Perfectly Rainy little Tuesday

It's raining, it's pouring...
I'm so happy I don't have to leave the house today!!
I'm dragging over here.
I attribute my sluggish nature to the eggplant I'm toting around 24/7.
While I seemed to be full of energy and pep the last few weeks,
I feel that as I near the 3rd trimester, I am slowing right back down again.
So?
I'll listen to my body.
NBD.
On this perfectly rainy little Tuesday,
{I cannot believe how many leaves have begun to fall!}
Some of my mums enjoying the rain!

I have candles lit, a pile of magazines to read,
and a pot of beef stew deliciously simmering away on the stove.
I cannot wait to taste it!
I'm loosely following this recipe here: Paula's Beef Soup
Okra is not a common find here in upstate New York...
What I love most about soups/stews is that you just chop a bunch of goodness up,
and throw it in.
Whatever veggies you have in your fridge, will probably work.
Let the heat work its magic and make your house smell amazing.
I also have the itch to read...
I'm finishing up EG's latest, and despite the negative reviews I read about it,
I honestly really like it.
I was mixed at first, but it's turning out to be better than I thought.
Now I'm wondering what to read next...
Besides the books on breastfeeding I have on hold at the library.
I've heard good things about these three.
Thoughts?

Any other good book recommendations?
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Weekend Re-Cap

What a fun little weekend!
We did get out on Thursday night for our date night...
I got all dolled up, prego style:
Fur vest: Arden B
Tank: Target
Skinny Jeans: Love-Heidi Klum {Motherhood Maternity}
Booties: Target
Bracelets: Stella & Dot
Necklace: Gift from friend
While it ended up being too hot for the fur,
I still had a great time.
We walked into the restaurant Cibon we originally wanted to eat at,
there was one table left outside.
As we told the hostess inside, she said "Oh, if there's a table just grab it."
We turned around, and the couple behind us quickly took over the table.
Rude.
Didn't she see my belly?! I was hungry!
So we decided not to eat inside, as it's more of a coffee shop feel in there...
decided it wasn't meant to be,
and ended up at a cute little Italian restaurant where we hadn't been before.
You probably needed reservations, and there was a lady wearing pearls,
but they sat us at an empty table for two,
and we enjoyed our meals!!
We immediately thought this would be fantastic place to come back to,
when the snow is falling, and we can escape for a quick little dinner date...
once baby is born.
We'll see!!
 Rocco
Friday we got up early and headed to the Dr's for our six month checkup!!
Baby's heart rate was 148,
I only gained 4 pounds last month,
and all is well!
We grabbed our traditional bagel sandwiches
and did a little shopping at Marshalls.
LOVE that place.
Even Daddy picked out some socks, bibs, & pjs for our little one!
He did veto an adorable hot pink Guess two piece suit...
and anything that said "Juicy" haha.
I love him and how over-protective he already is of his little girl.
We got home just in time as the evening ended with lots of rain,
and so he put together the crib!
Clearly our current "baby" was a lot of help!!
I totally fell asleep on the couch and ended up making cereal for dinner.
I am getting a lot more tired again!!
Saturday was perfect--
I had yoga in the morning,
cleaned the house a bit,
and got ready for our double date.
OOTN:
Dress: Maternity @ Kohls
Cropped Denim: Maternity @ Old Navy
Boots: E-bay find
Bangles: Wegmans & Charlotte Russe
Polish: Vixen by Revlon
Black bag: Coach
We headed out to a fun Japanese Restaurant
UMI
Chris, Jill, & Joe
Tried to get all four of us...
I was a trooper and lasted out and about until about 11:30.
Yesterday we lounged a bit--
baby has been moving SO much lately!
Joe finally got to see/feel her kick.
She just doesn't stop now; I love it!
We headed out to the country to visit his grams for Pasta Sunday.
Nothing like an Italian family.
They're so excited to meet baby girl!!
It will make Grandma a "Great-Grandma"!!
Of course we came home watched those NINERS win!
Hope you all had a beautiful weekend.
Now time for that never-ending housework...
{found on Facebook, true or what?!}

Feel Lucky, Because You Are

Happy Weekend!!
I just wanted to remind myself
{and anyone reading}
how it's just as easy to focus on the good in life,
as the bad.
We can sit and complain about all that is wrong,
or simply be grateful and happy for all that is right.

I truly am thankful for my life and all its beautiful happenings.
I wish the same to all of you!
Make it a fantastic weekend.

This & That on a Thursday

Well, lookie lookie, it's already Thursdeeeeeee!!
:)
Like I told my husband yesterday, I am eerily on top of things around here.
How so, you ask?
I've managed to keep the whole house very clean...
despite the small dogs worth of fur Sadie is shedding.
The "guest room/my closet" has been completely moved into & set up.
I've decorated a bit for Fall...
No real Halloween Decor yet.
Front Porch
 Front Door
 Dining Room
Baked Apple Pie in the Scentsy--smells amazing!
 Dining Room table
 Living Room
I've caught up on all the laundry,
[including baby girl's clothes all washed, dried & folded/hung]
Say what!?
{I really think the "do one load a day" rule helps immensely!}
I'm having so much fun finding decor/organization for Baby Brooke's room.
I  need to pull my coupons out and do a grocery store run for today.
I've been able to find new blogs to enjoy, comment on old ones, & keep up with my own posts.
I'm even making time to read my summer book--
which, might I add, I bought on Nook to read on my Ipad and I am really appreciating that.
It's so easy to read to fall asleep without having an extra light on & I can curl up under covers,
and turn the 'page' with a finger.
Brilliant.
So all in all, I'm feeling very proud of myself & loving the way I feel.
I'm sure soon enough I'll be so big and uncomfortable,
I am SO thankful for these weeks right now where I can still get tons done!!
Mama in-law came over yesterday to measure & cut the curtain fabric for
baby girl's room.
Now I can wash it in her sweet smelling baby detergent & iron.
Monday we'll commence the sewing!!
First Cut!!
I get to decide where I want which fabric squares for her quilt!!
I even used up some zucchini laying around...
{Recipe: From that good ol' book Better Homes & Garden
I doubled the recipe, gave one loaf to my in-laws as a thank you
and added chocolate chips on top to mine...
SO.GOOD.
And we have re-discovered the joy and necessity of
Date Night
Husband came home from work on Tuesday and asked what was for dinner...
I rattled off a small list of things we had that I could make.
He said he was in the mood for sushi, and I could get hibachi.
I was shocked, as we never go out.
He told me it's because usually when he gets home the house smells so good
from whatever I'm cooking, we usually don't have a choice.
Doh.
I never even thought of that!!
I just get caught up in my meal planning/making, which I enjoy,
but also enjoy a break from once in awhile.
So we headed out for a little bite to eat on an impromptu date night.
I put on some heels!!
I love how sexy pair of pumps makes ya feel.
Heels: Steve Madden
Tank: Wal-Mart (non maternity)
Vest: Charlotte Russe
Leggings: Gap Maternity--TOTALLY WORTH $$
Necklace: Wet Seal
Watch: MK
Purse: Coach
I quickly resumed my spot on the couch, laying on my left side after we got back.
But it felt so good to get out of the house, away from the pups,
& the only worry was enjoying the food prepared for us.
Rumor has it we may sneak in another one tonight after his hair cut!
There's a trendy little Italian Bistro we haven't been to in awhile.
Can't wait!!

Falling for Fall Fashions {via Pinterest}

I am linking up today to inspire some fall fashion 'round here.
Even though I have an extra {ever-growing} accessory,
I still lust after these fall clothes & hope to re-create what I can with my
somewhat limited wardrobe.
I always feel like I'm more apt to do so, when I showcase my favorite pins.
I am loving that I can still wear my faux fur vest from Arden B.
Granted, I'll be leaving it open, but I think it will still look hot!

I love the simplicity of the t-shirt & fur

Even found a pic with a bump!

Rock the fur over a cute dress, stockings, & heels

Leopard Print Scarf, Stripes, leggings & brown boots!

OK, maybe I'm not quite ready for the gloves!!
But I am on the hunt for a pair of knee high flat,
suede black boots...
 Anyone find any good deals?

Maybe it's the dancer in me, but I'm also loving the idea of legwarmers in fall.

How cozy do these look?!

They just add a little extra something to plain old jeans & boots

I adore this camel color, her blonde locks & all that chunk gold!

And the simplest statement pieces accent perfectly!

And of course, my fall staples:
Messy Top Knot
A wrap/pashmina/cape
Long Cami
Leggings
& my sweet baby girl!

My cropped jean jacket from Old Navy arrived!
I hope to wear it with a few maxi dresses
