What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet.  I had a few things I am loving lately so, here goes~

I started my 3 Day Juice Cleanse yesterday.  I have never done a strict juice cleanse; I've only done AdvoCare's 10 day cleanse.  I cannot wait to share all my thoughts, but so far SO GOOD!

The breakdown is 6 juices/smoothies a day for 3 days.  Lots of water.

That said, I went to grab my juices at 7am today, and well...I hit the breaks a little hard to stop for traffic, sent my packages flying and spilled my juices.  Well, half of two of them, which would have been my snack and lunch.  So, I had to take my truck to get cleaned because who knows what beet and carrots could end up smelling like....

Silver lining?  I needed to get my car cleaned.  These two had a ball in the waiting area.  Win win there.

I also made it to a yoga class Monday night and felt compared to share a little of my heart here.  If there is something you've been wanting to do for you, just go do it!! I know it's hard and you have a million reasons as to why not, but I am seriously making this my year of YES and it is so rewarding.

On a side biz note, my Mystery Hostess Trunk Show is up to almost $200 in free swag!

If you're feeling lucky, grab yourself a pair of Smokey Sparkle Studs for $19 and join in on the fun.  I'll be picking a winner next week!!!

Favorite Space {and place!}

My favorite space is currently our office.  It became the "catch-all" for quite some time and a place I'd just shut to door to, because I was constantly overwhelmed with clutter.  The mail piles up quickly if I let it, as do things that aren't used that often.

Why do I love my office? Well, although it may contradict itself, I also use it as a place to go and meditate, do some yoga, and just have as "my own."  In our family of four, every room is accounted for and this one just has to do double duty for me.

I have our wedding photos sprinkled around, because they make me so happy; it really was the happiest day of my life.  I also have my crystals, tibetan singing bowl, yoga mat and some essential oils at arm's length.

Next to my desk is a vision board. I only have one visual of our dream home, but I wrote out goals/dreams on post-its to look at and remind myself of "big dreams."

I love that there is a window and it probably has one of the most serene views of the house; no other houses can be seen or the school parking lot (until Winter, when the leaves are gone.)

It makes my yoga practice that much better when I can see outside like this!  I also have our aloe plant; I really want to add more plants to our home, but I have a very brown thumb.

My desk is not at all what I want. This hunk of junk, (no offense hubby!) is Joe's and has been here since before me and I don't even know how long?! It holds a printer (which I use) a monitor (which I don't) and I think it's kind of an eye sore.  The goal is to get a nice white desk, so that will be my next big purchase hopefully with my little blue Stella card!  I would also like a little bulletin board or something too, as I am starting to get lots of little stuff for Brooke's preschool and need a place to keep it all.  *Hence my messy stacks on the unused monitor!!  I'm just trying to not break the bank, knowing we'll be moving in 2 years anyway.

I did buy a little desk light from Target as the room can be a little dark.  I keep my journals/calendar here and really do a lot of Stella work, all of our bills and everything for our rental properties.

I also really enjoy writing my blog in here.  For me this little space has helped me become more myself.  I find solace in having a little area of my own where I can just let thoughts and dreams run wild, as well as earn a little extra income for my family!

I still have to say my favorite place would be our land. It's hard because I don't go there a lot, but it doesn't mean I don't think of it.  I dream of our new home, our yard where the kids will play and grow and our dogs will roam.  I envision a pool and nice deck to entertain friends in the Summer. I think of all of the meals I will cook in our new kitchen, overlooking the living room.  I cannot wait until I have my big closet and can hang up all of my things! And of course I love the 20 acres we can walk, ride around on the atv and just be one with nature.

What is your favorite space or place?

Miracle Morning

The other morning I was in looking through books on my kindle and I came across a book I had never heard of before.  I bought it rather quickly, (thank you Amazon) and for an extra dollar or so, I had it added to my audible account.  {I tend to listen more than sit and read as of late!}

Wow.

I feel like the universe has definitely been trying to tell me to get up earlier.  I don't know if I would call myself a morning person, but I have always been really good about getting up early...until I had kids.  After I had Bradley, sleep was really hard to come by, as he was not a great sleeper.  In fact, I think my body was still trying to catch up on all that missed sleep up until a few months ago!

Now, that said, I am always up by 7am, which is still early for most people!! But, in the land of littles, a working hubby and my stay at home life, 7am means time to take care of everyone else and no time for me.

I kept saying to my husband that when Brooke goes to pre-school this Fall, one thing I do not want happening is the whole rushing out the door/stressed out mornings.  We really enjoy our morning time together and the last thing I want to be doing is fighting with her to eat her eggs and get dressed.

Mind you, she's up now at 6:15 pretty much daily, so waking her will not be a problem.  I was more concerned how I will walk the dog, iron clothes, make breakfast, get her ready and feel like myself a little more.

Everything I continue to read, listen to or watch, has told me that in order to be successful, I must wake up early.  OK, but how?? I wake up then what?  What is the best way to start my day so I am on the right foot??

Enter this gem:

As with anything, there's no shortcut, excuses or BS that can help you become the best version of yourself.  In this quick book he explains a little way to start your day.  {By the way, his story is similar to my husband's and quite inspiring!  Talk about falling down and climbing your way up to the top!!}

So here is what he says to do.  Wake up an hour earlier.  Can't do that? Well, then aim for a half an hour earlier.   Drink a glass of water (we are dehydrated from not drinking overnight).  Get up and get dressed or shower.  Get out of your bedroom. Break your hour down into these 10 minutes each.

Silence
Not many of us will actually sit in silence doing nothing.  We have so many distractions, we rarely clear our heads.  If you can sit down and just be for a few moments, it will set your tone for the rest of the day.  {I'll admit, I just started implementing these and this one I still do in my bed. I try not to grab my phone or kindle, but just start being grateful for things in my life listen to my inner self.}

Affirmations
Write out positive affirmations and read them aloud.  "I am a morning person."  "I am patient."  "I am a published author."  Whatever you believe, you become.  A few positive and inspirational affirmations will help your morning turn into a beautiful day!

Visualization:
Where do you see yourself going today?  What sort of plans do you have laid out?  What about tomorrow?  Next year?  What are some goals a dreams?  Taste, feel, smell, hear ---try to actually picture yourself being whatever it is you want to become.  {one for me is our new house! I keep trying to visualize where it is I want to live.}

Exercise
I loathe working out in the morning. Always have.  For 10 minutes though?? I have been doing some light yoga stretches and just trying to get that blood flowing. I  also walk the dog so that helps too.  If I can squeeze in a workout later, I do that too!

Read
Pick up a motivational book.  {Not just the latest chick lit!} Obviously the one I have been reading is The Miracle Morning---next up on my list is The Diamond Process.

Scribe
Write.  Get a pretty journal or a $.59 spiral notebook and write.  You could just journal what comes to mind, you could write a book, you could just jot down some goal, just put words on a paper! {today I am actually blogging!}

Here's the kicker; a lot of you will say, "I don't have the extra hour, I get up so early as it is."

Then do it for SIX minutes.

Sit in silence for a minute, read your affirmations one minute, visualize something for a minute, do jumping jacks or yoga stretches one minute, read one or two pages, and write for one minute.

NO excuses.

So my mornings are starting to look more like this...

I've added an essential oil; today is "Grounding."  I have my full cup of water, my green tea and lately I've been getting into Angel Oracle Cards.

I shuffle the deck and choose a card.  Today this card came up twice; once when I opened the box and then when I split the deck to choose a card.

Whatever comes to mind, I acknowledge and think about throughout the day.  Kind of cool...

This has come to me at a perfect time in my life.  I cannot control what is going on around me; I am going through some stuff, just to say...but this is helping me stay centered and at peace.

I told my husband last night, despite all of the negativity surrounding us and all that is going on within our lives, I have never been more at peace.  And that to me is something I have never really felt before, so whatever I am doing must be working and I will continue working on myself.

I want to give my children and my husband the best version of me; they deserve it.  I deserve.

Love yourselves and have a beautiful day friends!

Lust List Spring '16

Happy Thursday!
I'm SO over this snow/ice/sleet junk sitting outside our windows.
I really want the weather to warm up so we can take long walks, play outside & just enjoy the sun.

Until then...

I've got quite a list growing in my mind of some very pretty things I would love to own!
A girl can dream, right?

Lust List '16

Lululemon-
I haven't bit the bullet to try these bad boys out yet.  I hear they're the most comfortable yoga pants ever, but I wouldn't know!

Summer Tote-
I mentioned my green tote yesterday, but I really love the geo cork look!  It's the same style, but has a different color/texture.  I love that I can stuff a bunch of baby stuff, plus my stuff & toddler. It's the perfect size mom tote!

Apple Watch-
I kind of want a fit bit, but Nikki said this would be better!
I would like to see my movement, sleep patterns, calories burned?
I need to do some more research.

New Nikes-
It's been a year and I really would like a new pair of kicks.
These hot pink do not come in my size 9, or they'd be purchased already.
Great price!

Ipad mini-
I love my iphone 6 plus and I have the ipad 2, so this is so not necessary. However, I would love a mini as it's not as bulky as my iPad.

What's on your lust list??

Week in Workouts

I LOVE a fresh start.  This month, I have lots of goals and am excited to continue working on my workouts.  Let's start by rounding out the extremely long never-ending month of January, with sharing my week in workouts!  Link up with Nikki, Ashley and me every Sunday! Let's empower each other to get our hearts pumping for good health!

Bliss to Bean

1.27 Monday- CU24
1.28 Tuesday-Rest
1.29 Wednesday- Rest
1.30 Thursday- Jillian Michael's Shred it w/ weights
1.31 Friday- Rest
2.1  Saturday- CU24 Powerflow Yoga

I hit my "3x a week" goal, but I want to workout more.

Monday I dressed myself in workout gear in hopes that I would just get her done.

I have a love/hate relationship with these two. I was attempting to do some bicep curls with the resistance band, while sitting on the ball.  It may have smacked me right in the face!! oy.

Not a bad 24 minute workout burn.

Stay fueled during the day!

Thursday's workout almost didn't happen.  I can't just pop my DVD into my player because my husband has his PS3 headphones attached and so the sound comes through there.  I grabbed my lap top to use, but it died. So I had to plug it in and do my workout this way.  A total pain and I'm working on fixing this because it's making me want to just go get a gym membership! Oy.

Saturday I was sore from the week and really needed a good stretching.

What'd your week in workouts look like?? Link up below!

My Pregnancy Essentials

It's already Wednesday?!
I had my husband home with me from Friday evening until just a few moments ago...
It was AWESOME!!
He finished painting the nursery, we spent some QT with my fam,
and he has logged many hours into his Madden '13 game.
Baby & I are doing well, still needing to watch what I eat...
heartburn is a biotch that sneaks right up on me!!
As I near the 23 week mark,
I really wanted to share what has been so helpful to me.
I saw a few of these early on in my pregnancy,
and it's always helpful to see what tools other pregos use to keep themselves
as comfy as possible during these beautiful, yet uncomfortable months.
I know there are many awesome products out there,
I simply narrowed it down to what I deem most important during these months.
{I also tried to include a link at description if you're interested in seeing more about the product}
My top ten faves include:

pregnancy essentials

1.  Pre-Natal Yoga.
I prefer to go to a weekly class, but even the DVD is great.
The class surrounds you with other positive pregnant women, a helpful instructor, and a wonderful
environment for you and your growing baby.
Learning the proper yoga moves help with funny aches/pains that come with the growing belly.
I got the above DVD at Target.
2. Maternity Tanks-
Liz Lange maternity tops from Target are heavenly.
They've helped me stay cool in this unbearable summer heat,
and I look forward to layering them come fall/winter.
I will be investing in a few t-shirts soon as well.
3. Strappy Sports Bras-
I gave up on pretty/regular/underwire bras.
They hurt and I only last in them a few hours.
I live for any tank top/sports bras. It doubles as a cami (or appears as one) under some of my dresses or tanks that I am falling out of, since the girls just won't, stop, growing.
I found cheap, cute, & comfy ones at Wal-Mart.
4.  Water.Water.Water-
I seem to drink more when I have the cute tumbler/straw handy.
Some days I am just so parched!!
If I don't drink enough H20, it's easy to get backed up...no bueno.
I would love a super cute monogrammed one.
5.  The Snoogle-
I personally see a difference in my sleep.
I tried shoving pillows all around, but this thing just curls up in all the right places.
I highly suggest it!
6.  TUMS (or whatever knock-off brand).
I have been getting pretty bad heartburn,
especially at night when I lay down...the burning creeps up on me!
I just take one {or two} and it seems to do the trick long enough so I can fall asleep.
7.  Old Fashioned Glazed Donuts.
Good luck finding them around here!
I seriously went to two different Timmy Ho's last week and they were out.
That's like KFC being out of fried chicken.
I settled on a sour cream glazed, but I digress...
8.  Maternity Leggings from Gap-
I am putting tremendous faith in these suckers,
as I ordered 3 pairs and I am anxiously awaiting their arrival.
I love leggings and I have heard wonderful magical things about these.
9.  Burt Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter-
I have tried a few different lotions, but this so far is my absolute favorite.
It contains no parabens!!
I love that it doesn't have a smell (particularly no funny smell!)
It lathers right on and soaks in my big ol' belly so nice.
I love that I can scrape every last morsel out of the tub and not feel like I wasted any.
10. A pregnancy journal-
I just picked mine up at Buy Buy Baby last week when I registered.
I love being able to write down all the different emotions, feelings, thoughts that have gone through
our minds as we enter our journey into parenthood.
It also helps keep a pregnant gal busy, as she anxiously counts down the days
until her little bean is finally here.
***
Of course I highly suggest a support group of a caring partner, family, & friends.
More than any gadget, it's times when I feel like I'm falling apart,
my sweet husband kindly reminds me, I'm not falling apart, I'm simply pregnant.
On that note, I must get cleaning since we basically lounged aruond
all weekend and I barely touched any sort of cleaning.

Deck Party

I had SUCH a great weekend!
Saturday I attended a pre-natal yoga class at a local holistic fertility center.
I absolutely loved it!
There were 6 other pregnant women and a wonderful instructor.
Each week she wants to have sort of a theme,
and this time it was "letting go".
It was right up my alley!
I tend to hold onto things and worry--and it's something I've been working on.
I refuse to be a stress ball while carrying a baby,
so I think I've been doing pretty well!
It felt so good to move and breathe through all of the poses.
The last few minutes you get to create a "nest" and go into a deep relaxation.
Heaven!
I then spent the rest of the day running around preparing for our deck party!
Since we finished our deck {read here about it}
We got 120 wings for Joe to grill.
4 pounds of sirloin steak--ground.
To top the burgers:
2 lbs of applewood smoked bacon
Avocados
Gruyere Cheese
I cleaned yesterday and tried to keep cool and casual:
Hey there belly, you just keep getting bigger!
We had about 17 people here and it was so fun.
Little did I know, my sneaky husband decided to turn it into a mini birthday party for me.
I went upstairs to use the bathroom and was called down to everyone circled in the kitchen...
And as soon as I walked in, one of my friend's twins, Aaron said,
"Happy Birthday!"
It was priceless.
A few seconds later my husband came from the garage with a homemade ice cream cake.
My step-mom makes them for each of our birthdays--
My favorite combo:
Butterfingers & coffee ice cream.
YESSSSS.
 {There's still some in my freezer, I may need some soon!}
Clearly I was caught off guard,
look at those hands on my hips.
Usually I'm in control of everything.
I am the one in charge!
Not always I guess.
It was very sweet of my family and friends to surprise me!
In addition to the cake,
my MIL also brought cream puffs from a delicious bakery,
lemon ice,
and we had Alison's Key Lime pie
& an eclair cake I made...not knowing about all this!
A few of the sweet gifts I received were...
From my sister!
I'm totally making these for dinner.
My mother in law Maria made me some adorable aprons!
Maria and Alison had similar ideas..
Clearly when we made jam,
I did not have the right equipment!
So I am proud to say, I know have
enough measuring cups, spoons, pots & canning supplies!
From my dad and step-mom,
a zester &
a beautiful maxi dress
I am hoping I can wear it on my actual birthday or even tomorrow night...
as hubs has another surprise up his sleeve!
I've got my feet up and am taking it somewhat easy today...
I want to have plenty of energy for tomorrow night!
I'm very thankful for such a great family, sweet friends, and such an amazing husband.
