Brooke Weekly

This week was a good one!! I am so happy that weather is warmer {even though it may be 45 tomorrow....} It was so nice to get outside and go on walks. I've also been having so much fun dressing baby Brooke in summer-like clothes!! If it's still a little chilly, I just throw on a pair of leg warmers. I found a great deal on Baby Legs back in November and scored a bunch!!

I'm learning {daily} with this mommyhood thing. I've learned to not go just by "number sizes" alone, and to realize that I have a really big baby! My sweet bloggy friend Amber sent some of her gorgeous girl's clothes for Brooke to wear.  This adorable Ralph Lauren set is a "9 months".
Leg warmers from Baby Legs.com
I got the Robeez on Amazon.com for $13
Sunglasses from Kohls.com
My girlfriend Alison let us borrow her pink Bumbo.  I was surprised to see how well she fit! It didn't last but a few pictures, and I would never leave her unattended, but it was cute to see her in it.

 Seriously?!
Lovely little walk...She loves that little orange monkey!

We had a little diaper rash again this week; she just has such sensitive skin!! I am making sure to have "nudey dudey" time now each day; it cleared right up!!  She loves being naked...

I love cloth diapers, but we still prefer disposable at night.  She needs to be changed every 1-3 hours; she sure poops a lot!!  I know that just means she's a healthy growing girl.

She loves being propped up on our bed, on top of her play mat...she watches The Food Network and falls asleep while I shower.
OOTD: Gap- Peter Rabbit collection from Aunt Kristin! (size: 6-9 month)
She was asleep before I got out of the house for this walk!  She woke up a mile into it though. I love those swaddle blankets to keep the sun from shining on her fair skin.

It was so warm yesterday I made a smoothie with my new blender!

It was so good! I used a scoop of vanilla soy protein, a few frozen strawberries & mango pieces, a large handful of spinach, some of the coconut water & Kefir.

I even made iced coffee with our K-cup machine.  YUM! Starbucks what? I cannot get over how much fun it is to have a little girl.  She's really starting to play a little more with toys and is just so curious. I look forward to many a warm weather day ahead!!
And a larger view of this shot---- This is also size 9 month...I fear she will be outgrowing it before July!? Kohls' line seems to run small. I think....or again, maybe I just have a really big 3 month old?!

Weekly Happenings

I love looking back on things we've done, so here's a bit of re-cap of the last week or so.

This is the face of a nearly 3 month old who's already teething. No teeth have popped through, but they are there, under the surface and we can see them!! Poor little girl.
Trying to get a little fresh air on a cold spring day, while Daddy grilled some chicken wings!!

My little pink bundle.
Feeling a bit under the weather last week; she makes me smile.
Spring fashion:: All dressed up for a day date to the mall! This blazer kills me.
 Daddy's girl.
Last weekend we took her to the mall and did a little shopping.
We enjoyed some tasty food from Bone Fish Grill. Kobe beef dumplings.
 Ceviche.
 Sun and warmth finally arrived last Sunday {4.7}
Visited a park with my friend and her twins.
Tuesday we took baby girl to get an excersaucer and out to dinner.  {4.9}

She was so good, even when it was close to her bed time.  She's so excited to see all that is happening around her!
My new Gap khakis---LOVE them. I bought them 2 sizes bigger than my pre-pregnancy size, but hell, they're not maternity and they have done wonders for my soul...I'll get there eventually.

Brooke's little dress is a size 6 month and is a tad short!! Girlfriend has a long torso.  I warned her daddy that she's going to be that tall girl who we constantly have to monitor how short things are because she'll be lanky!
Cutie
Patootie.
 A mother's love.

Wednesday brought on the rain. {4.10}  Our backyard is a bit watered down.
But we forged out anyway and went to visit Nana and Papa.
She just looked too darn cute to stay in.
We had lunch with my step-mom at this yummy soup place!
Organic beef---so good!
We also stopped for a quick {3 minute tan}--this girl was in desperate need of some Vitamin D.

And then we went to Yotality...aka Heaven!
Brooke really enjoyed it!  Fun and trendy seating, a fireplace, a TV...
Any kind imaginable with any topping!! Where were one of these when I was in HS??
Yeah...butterfinger with the espresso/salted caramel mix.  this is why my old pants don't fit

Good news: I've been feeling MUCH better and just have little coughing fits from time to time.  I am so so so happy.  I look forward to building a fire and staying warm today, as it continues to rain/freeze rain down....You'll find me snuggling with my loves.  Happy Thursday!

Girls' Night Recap & an App Recipe

Can I get a hollaaaaa--
It's Thursday!
Last night Matty hosted our monthly Girls' Night.
It was much needed and so fun!
Brooke decided she wanted to look super stylish
& trendy..
 Sweater dress: ON
Jeggings: Carter's
Booties: Grandma Delle Fave
You're getting me all dressed up
and we're not going any where for another few hours??
 I dunno about this ma.
I look a little too grown up,
don'tcha think??
 Baby boooooooties!
Yea, I need to rest up for Girls' Night.
I was in charge of an appetizer
Bacon-Cheddar Pinwheels
{recipe below}
Kristin made a salad
Alison made dessert: Orange Cake with buttercream frosting
and in honor of St. Patty's Day Matty prepared
Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes & carrots!
We each shared the happenings in our lives and laughed.
They took turn loving baby Brooke.
Alison getting her baby fix:
rocking her to sleep like a champ.
Somehow we ended up talking about bats--
and one thing led to another and well,
Kristin flipped out and asked me to play
"The Booty Song"
to help her get her mind off the disgusting bat talk!
I heard this song the other morning while dancing around
putting makeup on...
Don't tell me you don't dance around too!
Anyway I thought it was a catchy stupid song.
Yes, the title is:
WHO BOOTY
 bahahaha
Once again, it was a fabulous night with fabulous friends!
I love my girls!!!!
For my appetizer I tried to go "easy"
Which means, I should have known I'd mess it up.
I suck at 'easy' dishes.
I mess them up.
I don't know why.
Recipe adapted from my free Pillsbury Calendar
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated seamless dough sheet
2 tablespoons ranch dressing
1/4 cup cooked real bacon pieces or 4 slices bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled
1/2 cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
1/4 cup chopped green onions (4 medium)

***However, I think it needed more Ranch, more cheese
and I think the seamless dough would be hella easier.

Mistake--
I should have had 2 long rectangles, not 4 short
made for odd rolling.
Spread the dough out, pinch together the perforations.
Spread the ranch dressing all over.
Sprinkle the green onion.
Have 4 pieces of bacon cooked.
 Crumble bacon on top.
Add the cheese:
{again, use more!}
Roll up...
Slice and bake @ 350 for about 11 minutes
They don't look too purrdy.
And eat.
 They were good.
Nothing to write home about, but simple to make and transport.
I think they'd be better with more ranch and cheese though.
Next up:
Kristin's in April and I am bringing a salad!
