Baby Boy Nursery Reveal

Baby Boy's room is ready…we are only missing one thing: baby boy!!  I am 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant.  Brooke's cold is still pretty bad and I fear my throat is indeed getting even more scratchy.  I cannot fathom giving birth/taking care of a newborn while being sick, so waking up today, I thought to myself, today is not the day!! We will see.

I didn't do a specific theme for his room, but we did do woodland accents, with animals and his sheets have little arrows on them!  The color scheme was blue and orange, with neutral tones.

Mama's hospital bag has been packed and ready for weeks now.  I keep it in here because it's never been used and it's got some snacks in it and I don't want Holly eating them.

Lion friend is from Grandma Maria, little lovie fox is from Grandma Shari, and the little fox is from mommy.   Daddy and I got that blanket in Mexico on a vacation years ago.

Sheets & Bedskirt are from Land of Nod.

We are using the same glider from Brooke as well as the little "nursing station" cabinet which I've had for years.  The sound machine did wonders for your sister and I hope it will work as well on you too!

Great Grandma Tornatola made your blue blanket and Great Grandma Owl made your burp cloth.

Daddy picked out your lamp at Home Depot I think.  Both Boppy covers were handmade and purchased on etsy.

Sign is from Hobby Lobby.

The changing station.  The hamper was mine I bought years ago, I just bought a net bag for easy transport off of Amazon.

We are using the same changing pad and dresser we used for Brooke.  I purchased the cover off of Amazon.

I grabbed these baskets at Marshall's to organize with.

Your little onesie from Great Grandma Owl...

All of your toys!! I bought this blue basket at Marshalls for our living room awhile back, I think even before I was pregnant.  I love that it is blue and matches for all your toys!  Some are sister's old toys she doesn't really play with and some are brand new, just waiting for you!

Nana and Papa made your sign.

Your closet is full of blankets: some were mommy's, daddy's, sister's, and some are brand new for you! Lots of clothes from newborn-6 month are hung and ready to wear.

We have plenty of diapers too.

The "hole in the wall."  I suppose it's a cool architectural detail, since you can see it from our living room.  However, it was not safe nor sound proof until Daddy and Grandpa installed the plexiglass piece.

I found both the rod and the curtain on overstock.com.  I just wanted something sort of neutral and light, since the room can get dark. I also wanted thermo/blackout curtains, and these are perfect! I can tie it back too, which will be nice.

I love the arrow detail!

Your hospital bag is all packed!! I have some newborn sized clothing we were gifted, but I'm not sure you'll fit considering it's 5-8 lbs and you are already overdue.  Lots of soft and cuddle blankets to cuddle you with, and to take adorable photos of you in!

Let it Snow {happenings}

Happy Thursday!! What does it look outside of your window?  This is our current view and I am loving it! Granted, being almost 36 weeks pregnant and having a toddler, I don't mind staying indoors and watching it fall. I don't have a commute and there is no place I had to be yesterday (or today for that matter) so we are just enjoying the view from inside.

Kind of hard to see, but that pine tree can be seen from our bathroom upstairs, and I just love seeing the snow pile up on it!  Getting up a few times a night to use the restroom, it's nice to have a pink hue/glow to guide me to the bathroom.  I think it's from the snow and some of the street lamps that are on.  #lookingforpositives

So up for today?  I have had this recipe on my phone for awhile, just waiting for a cold and snowy day to try it out.  Today sounds perfect!  I'm using some of our venison sausage--I'll let ya know!  I love how instagram becomes a cookbook haha!

Nursery progress…slow and steady! I have his little changing area set up!  Diapers and wipes, all that fun stuff.  I still would like more artwork/signs but I haven't seen much that has really caught my eye.

Checklist:

  • Curtain rods
  • Curtains
  • Shelves/organization for closet
  • Command strips to hang with
  • A nightlight
  • A small lamp

I really love our tree!

Brooke read some Christmas books to baby and I yesterday morning.  She had a nice little table!  Speaking of baby, I have definitely been listening to my body…tons of BH on Tuesday and lots of pressure.  I just feel so much more this time around, waaaaay earlier than I did with Brooke. I keep looking back at my old blogs with her and I didn't feel anything until after my due date! My appointment is Friday (tomorrow) so I am wondering if I have any progress… baby boy needs to keep baking, but maybe he won't be fashionably late like his sister! We shall see!!

I also had the urge to start really tackling those last minute 'must dos' before baby.  Like re-assembling the car seat. I had taken it off to wash it and had to put it back together.  Thank goodness for You-tube! Brooke was a helpful big sissy and made sure Minnie was all tucked in safely.

While it snowed, we colored…

Aaaaaannd can I just say how EXCITED I was to see this pretty little box arrive at my door!?  I am super pumped to try out this Stitch Fix service and will do a full review on what I am keeping/returning.  Yup, you keep what you want and return what you don't! So so so simple. I will probably repeat myself, but to not have to pick out clothes for myself AND not even leave my house in a snowstorm?! That is what I call a WIN WIN.

I just have to share a preview and say, WOW.  I had told my stylist that I was very pregnant and was only looking for accent pieces to get me through the last few weeks and I will be nursing, so anything that she felt that work, send my way!! Well, this was the first item I pulled out and I didn't want to take it off!! Cozy. Warm. Cute.  Perfection.  The quality was so good and it literally felt like it hugs my body. If you are interested in this service, checkout this link! They work on referrals, and I just know you'll be hooked if you give it a go!!

Clearly, my fashion sense has taken a back seat while being in the final leg of my pregnancy; comfort and well, whatever fits!! These slippers work because putting socks on frankly hurts, and these leggings are a bit more fun than plain old black ones haha.  Maybe I'll put jeans on today…no promises!  Even Brookie had a jammie day yesterday.

Ok, time to get ready for the day!

Baby Boy Nursery Sneak Peek

It is finally starting to come together, and not just in my head!! We started the transition of putting the crib into the nursery, and I was able to throw on the new sheets and set up a few things for baby boy.  I was on the hunt for an adorable little orange fox for Brad.  I found such a cute ballerina bear for Brooke while I was pregnant for her, and I just love seeing her play with it today.  I stumbled upon this Etsy shop, A Little Bit of Joy and just knew I had to have him!

He's homemade and so soft!! I couldn't be any happier with him!  The quality is on point and the material is so soft.  It was a pleasure working with Joy.  I can't wait to see baby boy snuggle and play with him one day soon.    If you are interested in checking out her shop, feel free to use code: "JENNSAVE10" for 10% off any purchase through the end of December.

Orange Plush Fox Toy

IRL: 33 weeks pregnant, after a full day of running around with a toddler…this is what I look like!  VS sweats, an ON maternity shirt, and a messy top knot.  I don't care, I was excited to stand by my baby boy's crib!

We moved the glider into his room too, since Brooke just jumps on it and it won't fit come Friday, because her big girl bed will be here!! She slept just fine on the mattress/box spring last night and today for her nap, but I don't want to reveal until I can share how gorgeous it will be!!

Holly has always been a fan of this cozy chair, and I don't blame her.  I can't believe in under 2 months I will be falling asleep here, many a middle-of-the-night, nursing sessions and rocking baby boy to sleep.

I have cranberry bread and squash to make.  I should probably get on that, since Turkey Day is tomorrow!  I hope everyone has a wonderful day, full of grateful hearts.  We have so much to be thankful for, and are abundantly blessed.

Dream Board: Baby Boy's Nursery

TGIF!! It has been a very long, stressful, exhausting and expensive week, but our doggie is home and seems to be doing well!! I was running around all day and finally had some time to decompress tonight.  I saw that I missed a really cool prompt the other day for #blogtember and goodness knows, I need all the inspiration I can get right now for baby boy's nursery!!

We have the walls painted with "Manitou Blue" and when I google that color, this image popped up and inspired me:

It's a bit eclectic, but I really loved the contrast of the bright orange and blue.

We have a few crib options we really liked at Buy Buy Baby, but nothing has been purchased!! I am not very "theme" oriented when it comes to a room---I like it to express feelings/moods: happiness, love, peace, fun, lively…

So I think something similar to this "dream board" would be perfect for our little man!!

Baby Boy Nursery by jennifer-delle-fave featuring a round lamp

Daddy is an avid hunter, so I wanted to incorporate wild life of some sort--a deer picture or pillow.  He also loves football, so I would love to find something that fits in.

I love the bright pop of orange to accent with; certainly wouldn't do too much, but I think maybe a sheet, a throw pillow, and a stuffed animal would work!

I think I'll keep the curtain neutral.

We'll need a standing lamp, as there is no overhead light.  I also love baskets to organize with; they really help reign in all the baby stuff you need!

Swaddle blankets are a must as well; the muslin ones are perfect for so many things.

The Rock and Play sleeper is on my 'wish list' and I really think he'll get a ton of use from it.

I want to find him a special little stuffed animal too, before he is born. I bought Brooke an adorable ballerina bear, and my heart just melts when she plays with it.

Anything I should add?

Baby Girl's Nursery Tour!!

OK, I'm finally ready to share off all of our hard work.
It's still not "100% completed"
but I want to share how much we've done,
and how prepared we are for lil miss.
I tried to include as many links as possible for things I've purchased...
We are very proud of our nursery.
I truly believe it's a beautiful reflection of both my husband and I
and perfect for our little bambina!!
We just love going in there and cannot wait to bring her home to it!
My husband didn't want me painting or really lifting a finger
when it came to working on the nursery.
I didn't put up much of a fight, since I knew
I'd be able to spend my time searching for organizing essentials
and decor.
As soon as we found out we were having a girl,
he went right to work!
He primed the walls...
Removed the dirty old green carpet.
It was like 90+ degrees and this man worked his tail off.
He wonders why I already tell him he's a great daddy.
 Picked out "Fun Yellow"
and painted her room.
We also chose that carpet--a neutral.
Before and after
We took the doors right off, since they were the annoying sliding ones.
I wanted it all open so I could view all her cute items anyway.
Slowly starting to stock the goodies...
I searched high and low looking for perfect organization.
I thought it'd double as baby stuff storage
and her little library.
I cannot wait til her little hands can grab those books.
And this is her closet today!!
Her clothes are washed and hung according to size.
The basket underneath that holds her cloth diapers,
for when I'm ready to take that plunge!
{Baskets are from Jo-Anns and my mother-in-law lined them with fabric}
Can you stand all of her clothes??
Of course she's already a fashionista in the making.
We purchased her crib and changer dresser from Buy Buy Baby.
The crib converts to a toddler bed, then a full size bed.
Her mattress is also from Buy Buy and it's organic.
Her gorgeous bedding was designed by me
and sewn by Grandma D!! {Mama-in-law}
Letters made by my friend Ann--she used scrapbook paper to match!
Her name plaque was made by Nana (my step-mom Tricia)
The color pops with the yellow and fits perfectly above her door.
 Another view
And the gorgeous Tu-tu outfit for her newborn photo sesh from my mom!
Nightlight I custom ordered from Angela at
Switch plate I ordered from etsy
 My glider!!
From Buy Buy Baby.
Gifted from my dad and step-mom.
The little white stand I bought years ago when I owned my own house.
I think it was from Wal-Mart.
I just wanted a little "nursing station".
I ended up moving the lamp to the changing dresser.
It's from Target.
I made a little video on my iPhone...
I apologize it's not the greatest quality but it's something.
I am over 37 weeks prego and out of breath easily!!
Feel free to leave a comment for any of my questions I ask in the video.
Thanks and have a great day!!
