Daily Devotional-- I am expanding my journey in faith and I felt that this would help. I love it so far!
Sticky notes- To leave myself positive reminders, quotes & mark pages of books.
Hand sanitizer- because...germs!
Easter decor- I love this little pink and gold piece for the mantel!
Sports bra--it's super comfy and I LOVE the back! I was looking at some LuLulemon pieces but they're like $90.  Try $13 here--yay!

My Pregnancy Essentials

It's already Wednesday?!
I had my husband home with me from Friday evening until just a few moments ago...
It was AWESOME!!
He finished painting the nursery, we spent some QT with my fam,
and he has logged many hours into his Madden '13 game.
Baby & I are doing well, still needing to watch what I eat...
heartburn is a biotch that sneaks right up on me!!
As I near the 23 week mark,
I really wanted to share what has been so helpful to me.
I saw a few of these early on in my pregnancy,
and it's always helpful to see what tools other pregos use to keep themselves
as comfy as possible during these beautiful, yet uncomfortable months.
I know there are many awesome products out there,
I simply narrowed it down to what I deem most important during these months.
{I also tried to include a link at description if you're interested in seeing more about the product}
My top ten faves include:

pregnancy essentials

1.  Pre-Natal Yoga.
I prefer to go to a weekly class, but even the DVD is great.
The class surrounds you with other positive pregnant women, a helpful instructor, and a wonderful
environment for you and your growing baby.
Learning the proper yoga moves help with funny aches/pains that come with the growing belly.
I got the above DVD at Target.
2. Maternity Tanks-
Liz Lange maternity tops from Target are heavenly.
They've helped me stay cool in this unbearable summer heat,
and I look forward to layering them come fall/winter.
I will be investing in a few t-shirts soon as well.
3. Strappy Sports Bras-
I gave up on pretty/regular/underwire bras.
They hurt and I only last in them a few hours.
I live for any tank top/sports bras. It doubles as a cami (or appears as one) under some of my dresses or tanks that I am falling out of, since the girls just won't, stop, growing.
I found cheap, cute, & comfy ones at Wal-Mart.
4.  Water.Water.Water-
I seem to drink more when I have the cute tumbler/straw handy.
Some days I am just so parched!!
If I don't drink enough H20, it's easy to get backed up...no bueno.
I would love a super cute monogrammed one.
5.  The Snoogle-
I personally see a difference in my sleep.
I tried shoving pillows all around, but this thing just curls up in all the right places.
I highly suggest it!
6.  TUMS (or whatever knock-off brand).
I have been getting pretty bad heartburn,
especially at night when I lay down...the burning creeps up on me!
I just take one {or two} and it seems to do the trick long enough so I can fall asleep.
7.  Old Fashioned Glazed Donuts.
Good luck finding them around here!
I seriously went to two different Timmy Ho's last week and they were out.
That's like KFC being out of fried chicken.
I settled on a sour cream glazed, but I digress...
8.  Maternity Leggings from Gap-
I am putting tremendous faith in these suckers,
as I ordered 3 pairs and I am anxiously awaiting their arrival.
I love leggings and I have heard wonderful magical things about these.
9.  Burt Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter-
I have tried a few different lotions, but this so far is my absolute favorite.
It contains no parabens!!
I love that it doesn't have a smell (particularly no funny smell!)
It lathers right on and soaks in my big ol' belly so nice.
I love that I can scrape every last morsel out of the tub and not feel like I wasted any.
10. A pregnancy journal-
I just picked mine up at Buy Buy Baby last week when I registered.
I love being able to write down all the different emotions, feelings, thoughts that have gone through
our minds as we enter our journey into parenthood.
It also helps keep a pregnant gal busy, as she anxiously counts down the days
until her little bean is finally here.
***
Of course I highly suggest a support group of a caring partner, family, & friends.
More than any gadget, it's times when I feel like I'm falling apart,
my sweet husband kindly reminds me, I'm not falling apart, I'm simply pregnant.
On that note, I must get cleaning since we basically lounged aruond
all weekend and I barely touched any sort of cleaning.

Styling My Bump W/ Non-Maternity

Well, hello there Wednesday!!
I am loving this week.
It's been a busy one...
Today I'm focusing on Maternity Fashion.
Something I've been slacking on.
It's harder than I thought to not feel frumpy.
I love my growing belly,
I just need to spend a little more time dressing it better!
Yesterday I started my morning off running to Target and buying hubs the latest
Madden 2013
He doesn't ask for a lot, so when there's something he enjoys I love it!
If you bought the chips with the game, you get a $10 gift card towards your next Target purchase.
He posted that picture on Facebook and exclaimed he had the best wife ever.
Not gonna lie, I felt pretty bad ass.
I love him.
So of course after I made sure to get a copy of the game,
I was left to peruse the aisles of Tar-jay to
day-dream,
and
drool,
over the cute new fall coats and looks, that this big ol' bump ain't gonn' fit.
That's OK.
There will be plenty more Falls in the future,
but I am struggling with my wardrobe!
And as much as I loathe spending money on maternity clothes,
I am not fitting into things I really thought I could make work.
Dresses are riding too high in the front,
regular leggings are too tight around the tummy,
and my tops & bottoms just don't fit.
Oh, and if you've taken note of my husband,
he's built very European.
Tall.
Thin.
#Iweighwaymorethanhimnow
and I would stretch out his stuff as badly as I would stretch out my own.
I don't consider myself a "fashionista"
however, I love fashion.
I adore trends mixed in with classics.
I will admit when I got pregnant,
I was beyond excited to buy the scrunchy sided shirts & panel bottoms.
Yeah, well I'm over them.
Sorry.
I am mostly over the cost of them!!
I went over to the teeny tiny maternity section,
and was less than impressed with the gaudy floral prints
and over-priced t-shirts.
So I went back through the regular section and thought about what I really needed
vs. what I really wanted.
I ended up with a few new tank tops;
I just bought XXL & XL.
They're long enough
& my curves are kickin', as Sir-Mix-A-Lot would say.
I got over my fear.
I've been a small or medium since forever, but now is not the time to worry about size.
I'm most concerned with comfort then style.
Maternity Tanks = $12.99
Regular Tanks = $8.99 {more of a selection too!}
I looked through the clearance section, and found a pair of XL capris leggings.
Maternity leggings = $24.99 {not capris w/ panel}
Clearance leggings = $5.00
I wore this yesterday.
I threw on a skinny belt
{thanks to AP over at ILYMTC & her bump styling tips}
and I had cute strappy jeweled sandals too.
I felt great!
I loved the sparkles in the shirt, which are hard to see through my pic.
Funny how a few little added pieces can re-boot your wardrobe!
I looked at yoga pants.
Maternity yoga pants = $24.99
Regular yoga pants = $12.99 {so I bought two XL}
I figured since they're big on me right now, great!
I'm gonna get bigger & hopefully get use out of them post baby, right?
I don't think you can have too many pairs of black yoga pants.
I also picked up:
A trendy orange polka dot cardi.
I just got a large and it seems fine.
I don't need to button it, for it to work!
$22.99
I thought this little addition to my wardrobe will help accent the bump.
I can pair this with a white tank & skinnies with above cardi and voila.
Adorable!
$12.99
And I have been so hesitant to purchase shoes,
as I have heard so many women's feet grow during pregnancy.
It's due to the hormone relaxin, and my mother's feet grew
a half a size each kid.
Well, I always try on shoes at Target, but for some reason they never quite work.
Nor are they comfy whatsoever.
These however?
I felt like Cinderella and the glass slipper.
I put them on and felt like a new woman!!
$29.99

{Images are all from Target}
I can totally see myself rocking these on a date with hubs,
and even in my maternity photo shoot, whenever I chose to do that.
So what did I buy that was "Maternity"??
Not a damn thing.
I've decided it's a lot like the wedding industry,
and somethings are essential, while others are a waste of money.
Luckily I've been racking up those Target Gift Cards with certain purchases,
so that helped.
As for tips to not feel frumpy with your bump, but rather fantastic?
  • Makeup--it works miracles!
  • Jewelry--more is more!!
  • Hair--style it!
  • Dress up for no reason--makes you feel better, even if you feel lousy.
  • Embrace that bump.
It's only with me for another 18ish weeks, so I really try not to get down on myself.
It is crazy to think about how hard I was on my body before I got pregnant, now I look back and laugh.
I would slap my former self, if I could.
I am so blessed to be pregnant with our little girl
and while it may be a little challenging to feel like a hot mama,
I view this challenge as a good thing.
I'll get back to my old clothes...eventually, but for now I'll rock what I can.
Today I'm overly excited it won't hit 80 degrees, so I can rock a 3/4 length shirt
as I have lunch with some fab ladies & go register for this lil bean!!!
Feel free to share your Bump Fashion tips, I am all ears!

Coupon Update: Useful Savings Tips

Yesterday I decided to try doing a little grocery shopping at Target.
We just got all fancified with the newly updated produce & freezer section at our local store.
I also love that it seems to a tad quieter than my local grocery store,
and the aisles are big enough where you never feel like you're really in the way.
I also tried out something new;
I brought my coupon binder with me into the store.
I usually try to make a list and figure it out ahead of time,
but then I don't exactly know which deals are best and if I don't have all my coupons,
I could be missing out on a crazy good deal!
So since it's just me and my bump, I threw my binder in the kid holder. :)
I still need to share how my coupons are organized, but really it's what works best for you.
I looked at when my coupons expired and I perused the aisles in search of decent deals.
I won't go purchase by purchase, but it did take a little time reading the fine print
and making sure I was getting the right amount of each product, and the correct coupon.
I stopped in the laundry soaps section.
Here's one example of how to be a smarter shopper:
Each thing of Downy was on sale for $8.00 a piece
On top of that, if you buy 2 at a time, you receive a $5 Target gift card to use next purchase.
I also had two $2.00 off of 2 coupons I clipped from the paper.
So all in all, I spent $18 on 4 when without any of these deals, I could have paid up to $36.
Not bad!
It does take time to think about what you are buying because I orginally was just going to get these guys,
which I absolutely love:
But they are $6.99 a piece, don't last as long, and there were no $5 gift card rewards.
So I decided it was want and not a need.
My overall spending was $92
and I saved almost $43
I didn't have a coupon for every item,
like the 3 bins I bought for storage, but they were on sale for $6.99
I'd like to think I'm getting better as I continue through this coupon journey!
How to Save at Target:
Get your local Sunday paper and read the ads
Clip coupons from Sunday paper for both Target & the brand names booklets
Check to see what you have to buy in order to get money back ie. Gift Cards
My other stop of the day was Bath and Body Works
We were running low on soap, and the husband really only likes foam soap.
I know it can be a treat to use B&BW, but I figured I'd check and see maybe they'd be having a soap sale.
Heck yea they are!
So right there, that's a great deal.
On top of that I a 20% off coupon from the mail
and a free mini to-go coupon
So now I have 7 new soaps with fall scents {yay!}
and a travel size shower gel I packed away in my bag I take on overnights.
Savings?
$27.50
I spent $17.28
Don't you just love that!!??
Don't get me wrong, it took every ounce of my being to not
purchase the Leaves candle for $19.95
But I know that I will get more coupons,
and there will be more sales,
and I will have that candle.
Couponing takes a TON of time.
However, it also saves quite a bit of money.
Just start small with a little organizer to carry in your purse.
Sign up for company emails, like facebook pages, local grocery store coupons.
They are every where if you just take a minute to do some research.
It also opens your eyes to newer products you didn't know you'd like.
A lot of companies give away freebies so you try it, like it, and buy more {with coupons!}
Be sure to have a safe place to keep coupons until you're ready to sort through them.
Whether it's a folder, a box, a shelf, whatever, just take some time while watching TV
to look through and see how you may be able to save a few dollars.
With baby on the way, I am becoming more mindful where are money is going.
I decided to start documenting/sharing simple tips that I am implementing.
Since going from two to three is going to cost a pretty penny,
I figured it's time to start being even smarter.
Ways We saved $$ this week:
  • Clipped coupons for a good hour Sunday morning
  • Went to a matinee instead of an evening movie
  • Used buy one get one free coupon for pretzels at the mall
  • Used my Discover card rewards ($20 turns into $25 gift card at Bed  Bath & Beyond)
  • Bed Bath & Beyond coupons NEVER expire--used two $5 off coupons and a $20 on all 3 items purchased
  • I filled out a rebate from Tire Rack when Joe had to get new tires, received a $75 gift card--used that on groceries and spent only $16 of our own money.
  • Paid my Kohls charge in person--saved a stamp, while out running errands.
  • Used coupons at Target, Wegmans, & Bath & Body works
  • Returned our bottles and cans and saved more on our grocery bill
  • Sold an old purse on e-bay
  • Sold a book on Amazon
  • Sold two books on instagram
  • Had leftovers for dinner one night
  • Got low lights in my hair--reduce the amount of salon visits per year
  • Stopped getting manicures every two weeks {Dear God, how was I spending that much a month!?}
  • Going through the cupboards/veggies to use up things that may go bad soon!
  • Make Iced Chai Lattes at  home: Total cost $8/8 lattes & extra milk for the week vs. $5/1 at the 'bux
  • Determined what I really needed vs wanted
Remember to have money, means to be smart with money.
It's so easy to just spend, but to really be aware how where it's going, can be eye opening.
I can also tell you in my quest for organizing and de-cluttering,
I don't need any more stuff.
Have a great Friday!!

Workout DVD Review

Last week, while browsing the lov-a-lee Tar-jay,
I stopped over at the workout DVD section.
I asked my girlfriend Ann which she preferred, this or
6-week Six-pack and she said Ripped.
So I tried it out on Saturday.
I.
Am.
So.
Sore!
(I think I'm finally ready to try it again today,Tuesday!)
With this DVD there are 4 levels, weeks 1-4
I was doing the 'modified' version of most of this level 1 workout.
I can't wait to do it again {sarcasm}
No really, I feel so much tighter in my arms.
I love her 3-2-1 system
3 minutes of strength {I used 3 lb weights}
2 minutes of cardio
1 minute of abs.
It's a short 20 minute workout but she kicks your butt.
I love that she's an inspirational speaker in some regards too.
My favorite line, as she punished me,
"Perfection sucks."
She made this point that being perfect is boring and if we are perfect,
then what's the point of living?
Always just give "it" 110% and don't worry about trying to be perfect.
If you just give it your all, then that's all that matters.
Be proud of yourself of what you do accomplish.
I knew I'm not in the best shape, but sheesh!
Not gonna lie.
I'm scared to see what weeks 2-4 are like!
I really look forward to seeing results from this full body workout.
Of course, when working out you need to look cute too...
My Tar-jay purchases!
Bra: $16
Shorts: $10
DVD: $9
Yay for good health!!
What's your favorite workout DVD?

We went to acupuncture {sooooooo relaxing}
and then out to eat at a fabulous sushi restaurant UMI.
It was super trendy, and we were super cool at the early bird seating of 4:30.
We hadn't eaten lunch yet, so we figured it'd be "Linner"
Since we were the only ones there, we sat at the sushi bar.
They had a slide show of all the different rolls,
and Joe saw the top left photo and kept trying
to show the chefs, so they could make it for us.
They finally paused it and we were able to explain
and we had it for "dessert."
It was "Rainbow Tar-tar" and absolutely divine.
I loved the "Sweetheart Roll" [middle left]
After we ate, we went to my favorite mall and I tried on a few things
Express:
-Jean shorts
-Red jeggings-- bad bad idea!!
-a few shirts
Bought none of that. I just didn't "love" any of it.
I did have a coupon though and Joey found two shirts he liked,
so I picked out a yellow scarf which we basically got for free!
Aldo:
-A gorgeous pair of suede, dark pink pointy toe heels.
Bought nothing. They started slipping off my heel, no bueno.
Bare Escentuals:
hehhe
Bought too much!  Just kidding. I did buy:

It's what I grew up with, and I'm not sure if I can share the recipe!!
It was deelish; not quite dad's, but not bad for our first attempt.
:)
What a wonderful weekend.
Now to plan the menu for the week!
As always, thank you for reading my blog.
I really love reading your comments.
What'd you do this weekend?
