The Kitchen {Date Night}

Summers are for date nights, little dresses, strappy heels, beach waves & fancy cars.

Dress: Express
Shoes: Aldo
Jewels: Stella & Dot

PS I now snap a selfie of my makeup thanks to my glam artist Elizabeth.  I basically look to her as my makeup artist and blow her phone up.  Granted we talk about everything under the sun, but as for makeup help? She is the guru.

I went for a Party Pink lip, (thanks to my girl Ann & Lipsense) my Wesley Sunnies and Gita tassels.

It was a super rainy week last week so we were extra happy to have a nice evening out.

We had dinner at The Kitchen for the chef's tasting menu.   We visited awhile back and were floored at how amazing dinner was.  {You can see my post here}  This time there was MUCH more food.
I was stuffed!

They sat us near the door and poured some Cava for a toast.  Joe wanted to be closer to the chef so we ended up moving.  We decided to simply enjoy the foods this time and not take photos of every little thing.  I did the wine pairing again and enjoyed that except for the last wine, which was a Port. Not a fan.  Not that I had room to drink it anyway, it was beyond filling!

We don't typically go out this often, but when the weather is nice and sitters are abundant, we have been!  I seriously loved this giant mirror in the bathroom.  I need it for the next house for sure. Also? I love that my shoe game is on point, thanks to my husband finding these at Aldo for me!

Final Day in Vegas {Giada's Reivew!}

I just have to finish blogging about our little Vegas getaway...Saturday was so much fun!

We woke up early but then decided to get some more sleep so that we could enjoy Saturday night.   The weather was so nice and warm!!

We had brunch at Mon Ami Gambi.  We love this place and were super excited to eat here once again.

The sun was beating down us, but we didn't really mind since we knew it'd probably be the last time for a long while (hello cold grey NY winters!)

After stuffing our faces with delicious French food, we walked around.

I just love all the architecture, glitz and glam of Vegas.

We walked around the mall, I had the lady at MAC play with some makeup colors on me...

Joe lusted after more cars.

We took a different way back into our hotel.

For Saturday night, I dressed up in the little Guess number I found outside the Red Rock hotel.

I don't think I have ever owned such a teeny tiny clingy LBD.  I bought the shoes to match.  I still was one of the more conservatively dressed ladies in Las Vegas.  Craziness.

For dinner I had made us reservations at Giada's restaurant as soon as I knew we were going to Vegas.

We had a perfect table for two that overlooked the strip.

I enjoyed everything, starting with the wine!

They start with bread--the sea salt is so good mixed with evoo.

Joe ordered the caponata, but it had a lot of peppers and so I didn't touch it and he didn't really either...not Giada's fault, we just don't handle peppers well.

The bacon wrapped dates were to die for and I almost forgot to snap a picture!!

The waiter strongly suggested the cauliflower soup---it was incredible.  I need to try and recreate it.

I went with the classic lemon spaghetti with two jumbo shrimp which were so good, they were almost a lobster quality!

Joe ordered the pork chop and he loved it.

After our amazing meal we checked out the Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan hotel.  It was so pretty and glam, just my style!

There are three levels and each one has different signature drinks.

The gigantic chandelier!!

We had fun trying a few different cocktails.

This one had a flower in it and was really interesting!

Then we hopped a cab and tried to find a good club to go to...we found two and got in on the VIP list, cut the lines, and didn't pay anything...but neither of the clubs were for us.  Call us old, but the one club I felt totally claustrophobic because there was literally no room to breathe.  The second club was bigger, but the music was so loud, it was hurting my ears! My tinnitus makes my ears a little more sensitive, but even Joe was like what the heck?!  So perhaps our "clubbing days" are over...we still had a blast and more than anything, enjoyed our time just the two of us.

See you in July Las Vegas.  We will be back!!!

Weekend

It's Monday! I'm a little late to the game here...
We had a morning full of snuggles and no where to be.
It's damp and dreary, and I have no desire to leave.
We had a nice little weekend;
it didn't go as expected, but we made the most of it!

I finally got my vision board AND hung my first vision.

It's of course the house of our dreams, and though ours won't look exactly like this,
it's a really good motivator and I thoroughly enjoy looking at it!

I'm Spring cleaning in full force around here.
I've been going through all of the bins of baby clothes, sorting and figuring out where to donate.

I brought the kids to my sister's for a sleepover Saturday night.
I then headed to Trader Joe's and got a few things; it's just not an easy place to bring two littles!

We were supposed to go out to eat, but Joe's not feeling great.
He ended up being stuck at work and didn't even get home until almost 7,
which would have been our reservation time anyway.

While I was waiting for him to get home, I decided to try  Fabletics out.
I'm kinda stoked about 2 years free of Women's Health Mag

                                       SO we stayed in, had sushi and watched a movie. I don't remember where I saw someone rave about this movie, but it was really good! I wasn't too sure at first, but stick with it!  Super powerful and really speaks to any woman who is out there getting her hustle on.  Good things happen when we work for things and don't give up.  I highly recommend this movie!!

{Brunch}

We decided since we didn't go out to dinner Saturday night, we would hit up our favorite Brunch spot:
The Revelry

I couldn't even finish my brunch, but it was tasty!
I had to save room for mimosas!

My sister and my brother-in-law met us back here with the kids.

We hung out and cooked a delicious dinner {thanks Ann!}

Since it did not feel like Spring and we had a little bit of firewood left, we had "our last fire" I feel like I've already said that, but it's true!!
Bubs was helping Daddy

How was your weekend?!

Weekly Workouts & Menu

OK.  So my 'break' wasn't much of break, but I feel ready and have lots to write about, so write I shall!  I believe I have come up with a decent calendar of writing ideas and although I may not get to write every post, I have a solid foundation of what I would like to say and use this blog for...so stay tuned!! I hope you enjoy what I plan on using this blogging space as.

Sundays I'm going to stick with trying to keep weekly menu ideas (it really helps me stay on track!) and I'll even share some of my past week eats too.

This weekend I was so lucky to get some much needed girl time in with some good friends.  Carbs/coffee and girlfriends seem to go hand in hand, am I right? ;)

It's not often I get to enjoy days like this, so when I do? I cherish them!!

Easy tip:

Buy butternut squash already cut up.  Toss with sea salt & evoo and roast in a 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes.  I sprinkle it in salads, eat it by itself, or you could throw it in a soup & pureé!  Baby boy loves it and he gobbles it right up.

Tuesdays date night was so fun & I totally didn't take any photos because we were sitting at a table with others and I really just devoured the food.  The drinks were too strong, but super fun to try (sips) of.

I'm such a wino and bourbon and cognac just aren't my thing.

I did enjoy this cup of champagne punch.  It was the only drink I really could drink!

My menu this week is fairly simple.  My goal is to eat 90% clean all day, and then eat with Joe for dinner. I hate "dieting" but I do need to up my veggies and lean proteins during the day.  As you will see, I have pasta on my menu a few times. I find nothing wrong with a little pasta; I don't like or use whole wheat, but I do limit how much I eat.  Everything in moderation.

Can I tell you how excited I am to try this Mango Lime sauce out? It's so yummy!!

As for workouts last week?

Kind of lame...

Tues- Upper Fix
Weds- Walked/pushed the kids in the stroller 2.5 miles.

Up this week?
Today (Sunday) I took a nice long almost 2 hour walk with a friend and pushed Bradley.  Tomorrow I am scared out of my mind to start this:

I hope I don't die. Haha.  22 minutes, how bad could it be?  #famouslastwords

What's on your menu & workout plan?

Stay beautiful xox
