3 Day Juice Cleanse

Happy Monday!

So, I wanted to share my thoughts and feeling now that I'm all done with my Juice Cleanse.  First and foremost, I am NOT a Dr, nutritionist or anything of that nature!  I am just a girl who loves her body and wants to feel the best she can!

I used Instagram, "Instastory"{Styled_by_Jenn} to kind of keep a daily log of my thoughts etc.  I discovered that you can just save the whole story from the day, so I did that (which case now you see random's of my kids etc, hey that's my life!!)

I did forget to document a few times when I drank my juice, but I think it's a decent overall impression.  Overall I would give myself a 97% (haha! The old teacher in me!)  I drank so much water and kept a fairly good attitude; there was one point on day 3 where I was getting a little absurd and mad over nothing at all.

The hardest part was cooking meals for my kids and my husband, while sipping on juice. I love food SO MUCH and enjoy eating healthy, so to not be able to nibble here or there at all for 3 days was tricky.

I chose Breathe Yoga's 3 Day Juice Cleanse program.  It was $112 which worked out to about $6 a juice, and for that price I figured it was well worth the money.  Buying all organic fruits and veggies and then making the time to juice them may have prevented me from doing all three days.

3 days

6 juices or smoothies a day

I picked up at 7 or 9am and again at 3pm.

I chose a 3pm smoothie because I know my body well enough to know that is when I crash. I had something to look forward to and it was always a delicious drink!

I found it SUPER convenient to just go grab the juices, other than being an idiot and dumping the second morning's juices in my truck.

Would I recommend the cleanse to anyone? Yes and no.  If you've NEVER cleansed before, I highly suggest you checking out Advocare's 10 day cleanse. I still find that one to be way easier mostly because you can eat real food! It also taught me what foods are best for my body and honestly it's more practical for every day life.

Simply drinking juice for 3 days straight is not teaching you anything about how to live healthier.  Sure it will give you a sense of what juices you may enjoy and what I learned is that maybe when I am eating one of my 5 or 6 small meals, I could replace one of my meals with a juice and probably be totally fine.

At the end of day three, I gave in and ate some plain Kale with lemon squeezed on it. I also had a banana with my very last wheatgrass drink.

I could tell my body was almost in shock by day 4, as I woke up so hungry and almost lethargic.  I couldn't wait to get the eggs into my system for some protein! I am a HUGE protein believer and with all of the running around I do, I firmly believe our bodies need it.

**TMI**

With a cleanse you worry about "going" too much or not enough...I just went once in the morning.  Nothing to worry about there!

I did lose 4 lbs in those three days, but they all came back.  I did not cleanse in hopes of losing weight, I really wanted to reset my body and see if it helped with my Reflux issues.  While I had no tummy troubles at night, sometimes my stomach aches when I lay down to go to sleep, I still had the 'caught in the throat feeling' every day, if not worse than normal. (lack of stomach acid?)

So if you're looking to challenge yourself and have always wanted to try a juice cleanse, by all means go for it!  I would probably have been smarter to do it in the Summer, as I mention in my video I got pretty cold one day.  I am craving juices now and certainly am not taking for granted my ability to eat healthy and real foods again.

If you're looking to lose weight and firm up, then certainly just start eating better and working out. Nothing beats the gold old fashioned way.

PS. I could totally go for a hot apple and cinnamon drink; that was so yummy!!

Fashion Friday

Happy Friday!!

I'm so excited today I can eat real food! It's been an interesting 3 days and I will certainly be sharing my thoughts on my juice cleanse next week.

Last week I broke in my new shirt from my friend's new shop Simply Mama Boutique. I figured The Sutton would do it justice. My new grandpa cardigan from Express. I loved this simple and yet put together look!

For the kids' Rio party, I opted for my LuLaroe kimono and a top I grabbed at TJ Maxx.  I did wear my Kendra Scott earrings and the new Antonia Tassel necklace.  Hubby fueled me with a green tea latte & I curled my hair with a wand.

Tuesday we had a preschool trip to the firehouse and it was snowy, so I layered with the Park slope scarf and went with the Victoria Pendant necklace. I love stripes & leopard.

Wednesday was a simple black cami, black Lululemon leggings & a chambray shirt was the real deal 'mom outfit' for me.  I can't get enough of tassels, so the Antonia hung out with me all day again.

Thursday I was a crazy person running to and fro.  I just had enough time for my smokey sparkle studs, raybans, black Athelta sweatshirt & I was wearing my rose gold engravable (under my jacket)

We are currently having a secret sale with some major big ticket items reduced for a short time! You can only get the deal if you shop through a Trunk Show!!  {Shop here & it will be taken off at checkout.}

Oh, you see correctly. Both gold & silver suttons are on sale. This NEVER happens!!

There is still time to take advantage of the sign up special! $199 for $450 in free accessories. #holla

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet.  I had a few things I am loving lately so, here goes~

I started my 3 Day Juice Cleanse yesterday.  I have never done a strict juice cleanse; I've only done AdvoCare's 10 day cleanse.  I cannot wait to share all my thoughts, but so far SO GOOD!

The breakdown is 6 juices/smoothies a day for 3 days.  Lots of water.

That said, I went to grab my juices at 7am today, and well...I hit the breaks a little hard to stop for traffic, sent my packages flying and spilled my juices.  Well, half of two of them, which would have been my snack and lunch.  So, I had to take my truck to get cleaned because who knows what beet and carrots could end up smelling like....

Silver lining?  I needed to get my car cleaned.  These two had a ball in the waiting area.  Win win there.

I also made it to a yoga class Monday night and felt compared to share a little of my heart here.  If there is something you've been wanting to do for you, just go do it!! I know it's hard and you have a million reasons as to why not, but I am seriously making this my year of YES and it is so rewarding.

On a side biz note, my Mystery Hostess Trunk Show is up to almost $200 in free swag!

If you're feeling lucky, grab yourself a pair of Smokey Sparkle Studs for $19 and join in on the fun.  I'll be picking a winner next week!!!

Mommy Monday

Lil Miss and I had a mommy & me morning last Friday.  I went to get my brows waxed and she loves coming with me.  Afterwards I spoiled her with a cake pop and she was in lollipop heaven with her blue sucker too!

After that we hit up Party City to check out any last minute party supplies and then met up with Daddy and brother at the mall. It was a such a fun morning!

Saturday my girlfriend Kristin came over to help me decorate for the kids' party which was on Sunday.  We were so impressed with how well it turned out!

The sign said "Aloha" so we obvi changed it to Rio.  Thank you again Kristin!

Birds, bright colored flowers, primary colored balloons and streamers were just enough to make it feel like a festive little area.

Most of our budget went into the cake, (which I still cringe over) BUT it came out adorable and everyone (and then some!) enjoyed it.

I have tons of photos, but I of course need time to upload them ;)  Here is one of my favorites, of my two.  They've been dying to get their fingers into ring pops, so I finally caved and let them have some for the party.  Hence their blue and green mouths.  Ya only turn 2 and 4 once and we still had a fantastic meet up with the dentist this morning, so I'm rolling with it.

Brooke & Bradley, I love you more than you'll ever know; you two have so much spunk, personality, creativity, joy, love and life---I need to constantly stop and thank my lucky stars all throughout the day, for a perfect pair like you.

I hope you had so much fun during your party; I had so much fun getting ready for it.  Love you!!

Fashion Friday: Thinking Spring!!

Last Sunday we had a birthday to go to for Joe's Aunt.  I dressed up a sweater with these new beauties! They are light enough for all day wear, and I received tons of compliments.  They're so sparkly and add so much to a simple sweater!
Nila Chandeliers

Jeans & Sweater: Express
Waverly Crossbody

As you can see, I played "fashion blogger" for a few minutes and had my #instagramhusband take some photos.  I really love our new DayTripper bag.  It held extra clothes for the kids, diapers, wipes, my purse and things, and sippy cups.  I don't carry a diaper bag daily, but if I did I would use this every single day!!

Because I am silly...

The best kid models....who never sit still!

I tried to bribe with cheese, but that resulted in some silly and blurry photos.

Thursday's look was all black with some lipsense!
Victoria Pendant
Gwen Wrap
Smokey Studs {$19!}
Speaking of studs, I am looking to book February & March!  I'd love to spoil my hostess with lots of goodies, and as a thank you, choose a pair of studs, on me!  Let's chat.

What I loved most about our Spring look book, is that Stella & Dot really upped the ante as far as "every woman."  Jewelry makes anyone at any age feel so great!  My mom said she feels so put together and pretty every time she looks down and sees her pretties.  I love that!! Sometimes you just need to add a little sparkle to your every day look, to feel a little extra special.

Are you a bride to be or do you know someone who is?  Refer a purchasing bride, and I will send you a free $25 gift card as a thank you!!

The simplistic knot look is so on trend! I love this collection.

This is definitely a show stopper!!  This gorgeous statement necklace could be yours for free if you host a Trunk Show.

A few more pieces that caught my eye are the new large silver hoops---I love to cal these the baby friendly earrings.  Little fingers slip right through without pulling.  Win for everyone!

These are another pair of beautiful earrings and these are a 3-in-1.  Dress up a pair of jeans and a tee, or wear out on a night on the town.  So fun!

What I am Loving...

Wednesday, err Thursday??  This week?

Oh my gosh, where has January gone?!   I wanted to share Brooke's birthday; we went up to where Daddy works and had a little pizza party with balloons and some cake.  He had to work late, so we wanted to try and spend a little time together.

She blew out her candles and definitely enjoyed her cookie cake that Daddy picked out!

After the oldest turned four, I immediately started to get emotional about this one turning two.  Don't let that sweet grin fool you, he is a crazy little bubs! He just never stops and his energy is intense.  I love it and would not wish for it any other way.

Friday we snuck out for our Date Day and I had acupuncture; I wished I had brought some makeup to refresh with, as I feel like I look rather pale!  We had a wonderful little lunch, drove around and enjoyed some chats and some silence!

I requested that he take me to Breathe Yoga studio, as I have been too nervous to go before, and I've been wanting to check it out for years.  They have a delicious juice and smoothie bar.  I am obsessed with their little immunity defense shots!!

Come Monday, I was so proud of myself that I actually went to a Yoga class. I got up at 5am and made it to the 6am practice.  I'm still sore. I can't wait to go back.

Tuesday night Bubs turned 2!!  We decided to go to Longhorn Steakhouse.  The kids were fairly well behaved and we enjoyed ourselves.

Someone was *a little* jealous of the attention brother was getting, but she hung in there like a champ.  She's obsessed with her new bird from Grandma.

Mr. Cranky (literally was fairly moody all day long!) gave some dirty looks before dessert.

We just got him a few gifts and he LOVED the scooter my friend Lindsay recommended.  He's so big, it's killing my momma heart!!

Big sissy was such a huge help opening the cards and gifts.

And totally random, but I really like this tea.  My throat had been hurting for almost a week and I was downing this tea like it was my job.  My throat is starting to feel better, but now I sound like a man (or Luann from the RHONY).

What are you loving this week?
