What I wore Wednesday

I am trying to be better about dressing in real clothes, aka no yoga pants, and taking pictures! It makes me feel better when I take the time to look nice for myself and my husband. It makes me happy and in all about doing more of what makes me happy. I am loving cozy, cute, comfy…but who isn't these days?!

Here are a few of my looks lately-

Hat: Old Navy {similar}
Scarf- Gap {similar}

Infinity Scarf-Gift
Sweater Dress- Kohls {similar}
Boots- Aldo {similar}

Dress- LuLaroe
Belt- F21 {similar}

Dress: Old Navy
Necklace- Thrifted
Apron- My Grandma's  <3

Cardigan- Loft {similar}

And a random giggle--

I had to LOL at this one!  So true.

My nail inspiration came from this--It looks darker here, but it's the same color!

Malaga Wine

But most importantly, no matter what you're wearing, put a smile on!  Seriously. It's something I am noticing a lot lately…people just going thing the motions without any emotion!  I get we all have bad days, tough times, etc. but there is always always always, something to smile about.

What looks are you loving lately?

Happy Hump Day & stay beautiful! xox

Life this Week

What's new in my world....let's see:
I sewed my very item Monday night with my mother-in-law
unless you count the pillow I sewed in 8th grade Home Ec & barely passed
We have some extra fabric I just love extra pillows for baby girl
She likes it too.
I must say I am DYING to share with you all that we've been working on,
but I want to do a big dramatic reveal
[maybe even in a video!?]
and show off our nursery when it's all complete.
Tuesday I attempted my best to look like a hot prego wifey,
as it was the love of my life's birthday!!
He worked all day, but I ran him up lunch and then got busy in the kitchen.
Black maternity shirt: Borrowed from a friend, I think it's Kohls though.
Jeans: Motherhood
Scarf: a boutique in LA
Belt: Target
Bracelet: Things Remembered
I showered the love of my life with my cooking skillz
His Gifts:
He bought himself faster internet accessories {to play Madden better}
and a stool to sit one whilst playing Madden.
I gave him a few shirts from Express
and we have tickets to a comedy show featuring Eddie Griffin in a few weeks!
**Candy coating melted in the microwave,
then dip strawberries & set on wax paper or non-stick foil.
I then added a few drops of mint extract to the chocolate & finished it off with some pretzels.
I die.
Cream cheese sugar cookies...
I did frost them, don't worry!!
I took a few shots of the sweet treats,
but once I started my lobster risotto and beef tenderloin with mushroom Merlot sauce,
I stopped taking photos and just concentrated on the cooking.
It had been awhile since I made a baller-ass meal like that
and I must say I was quite proud of how delicious it turned out!
Sorry I could not share with all of you.
I am also sorry that I don't have comfortable shoes, as my feet are still killin me!!
Joe wanted a low key birthday, since he hasn't had a day off in 9 days,
so I tried to give him just that with a restaurant quality meal.
I am not sure who enjoys the cookies more, him, me, or baby!!
Wednesday I had a Living Social voucher that needed to be used up ASAP,
so I got all dressed up for lunch with my step-mom Tricia.
Maternity top: Kohls
Jeans: Motherhood Maternity--by far the comfiest pants yet!
{and they have a cute design on the bum}
Shoes: Marshalls
Scarf: Marshalls
Bangle: Premier Jewelry
Leather wrap bracelet: Stella & Dot
Watch: MK
Necklace: Premier
Earrings: F21
I had been wanting to try The Melting Pot for awhile,
and Trish really wanted to go back to one.
It was fun!
You start with a Cheese Fondue:
We chose the traditional Swiss.
 We got a salad in between...
Then our main course.
 And the best part:
Dessert!
We went with the Ying/Yang.
While I wouldn't go back all the time,
[it's pricy, rich and very filling]
I would recommend it for the tasting experience.
 I was surprised how long we were there for!!
Two + hours
It'd be fun to have a big group of people and try a bunch of flavors.
 We then walked the mall
maybe bought a few more precious baby girl clothes
and called it a day after a few errands.
I then went over to my in-laws to finish up the bumper pads,
or rather my mother-in-law finished and I sat and talked.
I am so appreciative of all the hard work she's done!!
It's beautiful.
Happy Thursday pretties!!!

Weekend Rewind

Hello October!
I must say we said farewell September in a fun way.
Saturday I had my girl K over for coffee, bagels & girl time!
Since school started up for her, we have been a bit busy
and it was nice to catch up.
She also painted my nails
because mine look like a 5 year old does them when I paint
Then I got ready for our dinner date...
I was in a country mood and I just love that song "Cruise"
it reminds me of my hunny!!
I decided to try and look casual yet fun.
Insert that rap...in my white tee...
OOTN:
Bangle: Premier Jewelry
Watch: MK
Wrap Bracelet: Stella & Dot
White T-Target Liz Lange Maternity
Faux Fur: Arden B
Jeggings: Love by Heidi Klum @ Motherhood
Booties: Target
I curled my hair with my Chi Straightener!
We had reservations for a newer Italian joint downtown
Benedettos.
It was good!
Hubs didn't know my parents would be there
and he didn't know we'd sort of be celebrating his birthday.
Since his tent sale for work always falls in October around his birthday,
they never get to celebrate it with him.
So we made it happen a few days early!!
Caprese Salad--most amazing purple tomatoes
My healthy beet salad
My husband doesn't love attention, so it's fun to embarrass him a bit.
Surprises.
Balloons.
Presents.
My bump made it a tad uncomfortable to sit for too long...
but it was so so fun!!
Step-mom & Dad
My dad always calls him that...
I think he loves having another 'son'!!
Of course I ordered the pizza...
I gave it a 8.5 out of 10.
10 being pizza in Rome.
Sauce was great, good basil, dough was yummy--
just a tad too charred on the outside for my liking.
I usually eat all of the crust, but I left the burnt pieces...
Joe ordered the Bolognese.
I just think for an Italian place,
your serving size should be MUCH bigger.
Just saying.
Joe loves to sing "Happy Birthday" at the top of his lungs,
so my dad made sure he picked up the slack for him...
sorry to the other eaters!
Candle in a canoli!
He received many tools and was so excited about a flashlight.
That's my man!!
Thanks to my family for making it an extra special night for my husband.
Sunday he spent his only day off helping our friend Chris out,
then Chris returned the favor and helped him stack firewood.
I spent the day baking and cooking up a storm!
Sausage Potato Soup: Recipe here {served w/ garlic knots}
Homemade Applesauce: Recipe here
And those Pinterest Pumpkin Muffins: Recipe Here {yes, 2 ingredients!!}
I added the chocolate chips because, well, I am obsessed with sweets.
The powdered sugar was a nice touch.
Joe LOVED them.

We watched the niners kill the Jets
:::my lucky shirt did the trick:::
And I made Joe's favorite
Bacon Pasta: Recipe here
for dinner.
He was asleep on the couch before 8.
Today's opening day of hunting and he has to work,
but tomorrow we will get up at 4 to head out to my dad's land so he can get his hunt on.
I'm going so I can hang out and chat with my step-mom Tricia.
Maybe we'll get some Fall baking done.
Tonight I'll go over to my in-laws and work on baby girl's bedding.
Fun stuff I tell ya!!
What'd you do this weekend?

Weekend Re-Cap

What a fun little weekend!
We did get out on Thursday night for our date night...
I got all dolled up, prego style:
Fur vest: Arden B
Tank: Target
Skinny Jeans: Love-Heidi Klum {Motherhood Maternity}
Booties: Target
Bracelets: Stella & Dot
Necklace: Gift from friend
While it ended up being too hot for the fur,
I still had a great time.
We walked into the restaurant Cibon we originally wanted to eat at,
there was one table left outside.
As we told the hostess inside, she said "Oh, if there's a table just grab it."
We turned around, and the couple behind us quickly took over the table.
Rude.
Didn't she see my belly?! I was hungry!
So we decided not to eat inside, as it's more of a coffee shop feel in there...
decided it wasn't meant to be,
and ended up at a cute little Italian restaurant where we hadn't been before.
You probably needed reservations, and there was a lady wearing pearls,
but they sat us at an empty table for two,
and we enjoyed our meals!!
We immediately thought this would be fantastic place to come back to,
when the snow is falling, and we can escape for a quick little dinner date...
once baby is born.
We'll see!!
 Rocco
 Friday we got up early and headed to the Dr's for our six month checkup!!
Baby's heart rate was 148,
I only gained 4 pounds last month,
and all is well!
We grabbed our traditional bagel sandwiches
and did a little shopping at Marshalls.
LOVE that place.
 Even Daddy picked out some socks, bibs, & pjs for our little one!
He did veto an adorable hot pink Guess two piece suit...
and anything that said "Juicy" haha.
I love him and how over-protective he already is of his little girl.
We got home just in time as the evening ended with lots of rain,
and so he put together the crib!
Clearly our current "baby" was a lot of help!!
I totally fell asleep on the couch and ended up making cereal for dinner.
I am getting a lot more tired again!!
Saturday was perfect--
I had yoga in the morning,
cleaned the house a bit,
and got ready for our double date.
OOTN:

Boots: E-bay find
Bangles: Wegmans & Charlotte Russe

We headed out to a fun Japanese Restaurant
UMI
Chris, Jill, & Joe
 Tried to get all four of us...
I was a trooper and lasted out and about until about 11:30.
Yesterday we lounged a bit--
baby has been moving SO much lately!
Joe finally got to see/feel her kick.
She just doesn't stop now; I love it!
We headed out to the country to visit his grams for Pasta Sunday.
Nothing like an Italian family.
They're so excited to meet baby girl!!
It will make Grandma a "Great-Grandma"!!
Of course we came home watched those NINERS win!
 Hope you all had a beautiful weekend.
Now time for that never-ending housework...
{found on Facebook, true or what?!}

Fashion & Family Time

I know I'm repeating myself, but
I cannot help it;
I'm LOVVVVING this crazy summer-like
weather in the middle of March.
I don't ever remember it being this nice for such a long
stretch of time!
That being said, I have {unofficially}
broken into my summer wardrobe and
realized that I barely wore any sweaters during winter.
Well, it's still technically winter, but it's so weird!
I have some OOTD to share.
