Weekend Reflection

It's Wednesday.  It's freezing cold.  I'm a little behind on housework etc.  I still have tons of emotions about my grandmother's wake last night...and so I just want to reflect on my super fun weekend.  [minus the whole 49ers losing; boo]

Friday the sun was shining--like whoa.  I went to my hair appointment, goodbye roots, hello blonde!  While I did that, hubby took Brooke to my dad's for the weekend.

After!! I got all dolled up, thanks to my amazing hair dresser doing my hair and we had a lovely date night.

Selfie alert.

We dined at The Revelry.  The food was pricey but very good!!

We were home and hubs was asleep by 9:45

The next morning I met up with my good friend Alison.  We had a girls' day planned: pedis, Barnes and Noble and lunch, sans kiddos!!  Gotta love the plastic baggie wrapped toes!

After our pedicures we went over to Barnes and Nobles, got some lattes and wandered around aimlessly.  We had no where to be and no one tugging on our pants; it was quite lovely! We had a delicious little lunch.  I enjoyed a side salad and croque monsieur. MMMM!

Joe and I debated over whether we should go out to see a movie or what.  We decided on sushi at our favorite place, and we ate right at the sushi bar.  Afterwards, we came home and built a fire.  I actually read a magazine. A whole magazine in one sitting! I don't remember the last time I did that!!

I am on a makeup kick again [thank you YOU TUBE!] and keep hearing all of this amazing stuff about this Sigma F80 brush and so I ordered it off amazon.

I then made asked hubby if we could stop at Sephora after picking up Brooke on Sunday.  I wanted to try this foundation {only $26} and it's kind of like an airbrush technique. I haven't played with it yet, so I will review it soon!!  I also scooped up this amazing concealer.  Mama's bags under her eyes are bad and needed something stronger!

Even though our boys lost Sunday night, it was still a great weekend.  I may have started to cry when Navarro Bowman hurt his leg--that just looked so painful!  I felt so bad for him. As much as we missed out little peanut,  I'm glad she was able to spend time with my dad and step mom. It also gave us a chance to just spend some QT just us two.

So what'd you all do last weekend?! Any other new makeup out there I should dig into?? Share!

September Weekend

Happy Monday everyone! It is a chilly start to our week up here---about 44 degrees--brrrr!!  Our weekend was a busy one, and as always, flew by far too fast.  Friday hubs woke up with his Crohn's acting up...so he literally spent the entire day in bed.  While I am grateful it wasn't as bad as it could have been, it still downright sucked that it was his day off and he couldn't enjoy it.  I made sure to make him lots of light/non spicy food he could easily digest, so it was scrambled eggs, tofu burgers and avocado.

Baby girl was so good and quiet while Daddy rested...

By Friday evening he felt well enough to watch what has easily become MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER.

I absolutely loved The Great Gatsby in high school. I read it my Junior year, and it is the main reason I wanted to become a teacher.  I loved discussing all of the symbolism, the way Fitzgerald wrote everything---it was perfection.

I also may have had a major slight obsession with Leonardo DiCaprio back in the day {R&J, Titanic..} And so I can't help but love him playing Gatsby.

1.) I need to re-read the book again.
2.) I need to own this on DVD
3.) I need the soundtrack.

Yeah. I'm still that girl haha.

Moving on...

Saturday we were quite busy spending time with Joey's mom & grandma.

Baby girl had her first taste of homemade pasta & sauce--I am so happy she can experience her Great Grandmother's cooking. It is so special!! {and so good!}

We had to run to Wal-Mart {which is always an adventure} and they had the cutest puffer vest--I couldn't resist!

My "stock pile" arrived---I'm excited to have items on hand for local friends.  You really shouldn't run out of Spark, it's such amazing stuff!!

I cannot wait until I can do another cleanse again.  It felt SO good the first time through.

Our Saturday night was a wild one.  I played on Pinterest.  He played Madden.

Sunday we surprisingly slept in (after the dogs woke up at 7:30) until a little after 10.  Even Brooke was exhausted! I can't remember the last time we slept in late.

It was GAME DAY so I was so excited to wear this shirt again, since last year it didn't fit over my belly.

My "Lucky shirt" is still lucky!! Good job boys!!

We went to a 1st birthday party where lil miss enjoyed some chocolate covered strawberries!

The birthday boy--look at his hair!!

And above all else, please remember...

What I'm Watching

Since I'm still killing time
{and trying not to focus all on baby...
it's like watching a pot of water boil}
I'm not usually a huge TV person;
I love the Food Network and The Cooking Channel.
That's what I mostly watch/have on the TV.
But, since there's not a whole lot else I can do besides
play online,
read books,
and patiently wait...
Here's a few shows that have caught my eye.
I'll start with a few that I am oddly excited about watching:
I really only love Jillian Michaels.
I'm also interested to see how they tackle the whole overweight children concept.
I feel strongly about good health and I love JM's passion.
{And her kick-ass workouts I cannot wait to get back into!}
You can see some of my favorite workouts posted here...
I know it will motivate me, once I get the clear to workout hardcore again!!
I always enjoy the first few episodes...
hubs and I may or may not make inappropriate commentary as the
"young classy ladies" exit the limo and meet their potential future husband.
I love the dresses and some of the cattiness.
No lie.
I'm happy that Revenge starts back up!
We definitely get into her twisted plot of avenging her father's death.
"Our Show"
is definitely Modern Family.
Gloria is having her baby Wednesday
#maybeiwillhaveminetoo
We just love all the characters and laugh so hard every episode.
Our other "new" show is How I Met Your Mother
We ordered Netflix through our PS3
and had never seen this show.
I don't even know which season we are on,
but we are completely addicted and love love love this show!
I love Ted's quirkiness and my husband finds Barney hysterical.
Awesome show.
  Guilty Pleasures:
Pretty Little Liars
 Since having Netflix,
we can now stream it through our phones/ipads...
Sweet!
I jumped on this cheesy chic drama bandwagon.
It's pretty ridiculous but something to pass the time.
I still keep up with my Real Housewives...
I'm not really loving any of the women or episodes,
but I do like all their fancy bling,
over-sized homes,
fancy cars,
crazy lifestyles...
And the train-wreck that is Miami
Joanna is super pretty,
but man is she a drunken mess!
I feel like these women just get more and more fake...
I liked that they got away for a bit to the Bahamas,
but I find myself questioning why I'm even watching this garbage??
Again, I blame the pretty outfits, fun hair, and lavish lifestyles.
I DVR Dr. Oz
and find that I do learn quite a bit from him.
I take it all with a grain of salt;
if you took a vitamin or ate everything he talks about on the show,
you can drive yourself insane.
I do try to take most of it and apply it to our lives,
and it helps to watch a show like this from time to time to educate myself.
In other viewing news...
Hubs and I went to a movie on Saturday.
I was really anxious to get out of the house,
and get out of my mind!!
I appreciate anything that will distract me these days.
So, I chose the movie
This is 40.
My husband said it was the scariest movie he's ever seen,
and I have to agree;
it was not that funny!
It was actually quite sad...
and taught us all about how we don't want to parent our children,
how we don't want to treat one another,
and how messed up families can really be!
Not saying we are perfect,
because we aren't,
but we are genuinely happy people and that movie was just a crock.
We laughed a few times, but not worthy of a theater ticket...
I don't know, I just expected really funny and it disappointed.
I was happy to get out of the house though!
And probably most importantly this week will be
Saturday at 8pm:
The playoffs.
Joe's already coaching Brooke that she better come before
or after this big game!!
We'll see what she has in store.
Anything else out there I should be watching?
Hopefully I won't have much time soon,
but for now...

Perfect Sunday & Help!

Happy Cyber Monday!
Any good deals out there?
I finished up some shopping on Gap/ON/Banana
with their 30% off, free shipping & extra discounts already on items.
I had a lovely Sunday--best one in a long, long time!!
You see, my husband is an ah-mazing cook.
His culinary skills completely wooed me in the beginning...
to the point where I was nervous to cook for him,
because I feared I wouldn't be as good!
He loves to try new recipes and isn't afraid of anything.
I was more of a reserved, follow the recipe, I don't want to mess it up kind of cook.
Obviously, since I quit my teaching job,
I took my cooking to a whole new level.
I began really experimenting with different flavors, spices, meats, and food cultures.
I must say that both my husband and I are most inspired by the Food Network.
I love my cookbooks,
but watching someone make a meal on TV
really makes you feel empowered that you can do it too!
Friday night I had on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives
and we watched an episode or two,
and were completely salivating by the end of it.
{I'm still dreaming about a crazy grilled cheese sandwich & tomato bisque we saw}
Well, he turned to me and let me know he wanted to make me dinner,
and well, I certainly was not going to say no!!
I can't tell you the last time my hardworking, busy man, planned out a meal,
grocery shopped and cooked it himself!
I can tell you that I am SO SO SO happy that he did,
and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
I still had to do the dishes,
but it was still far better than any restaurant or take out we could have bought.
He kept asking me how I liked being a guy;
I was laying on the couch watching football while he slaved away in the kitchen.
He made garlic cheese scallops for an appetizer
and chicken a l'orange for dinner!!
It was excellent.
The 49ers won woop woop!!
We enjoyed a fire and hot cocoa as well.
I hope you all had a relaxing Sunday!
Now to clean and decorate for the best holiday everrrrrrrr....
Christmas!

Question:
I have pictures, but as I attempted to upload, it told me I've reached my limit?!
I now need to upgrade and pay to put more photos onto my blog?
Has this happened to any of you?!?!
Is there a way to delete photos I don't need on there?
I don't wanna pay $$$$

Giving Thanks, Football, & Shopping!

Happy Tuesday!
Just a few more days and we'll be dining on a
deliciously prepared meal with friends and family.
With music playing,
glasses clinking,
laughs,
smiles,
jokes,
memories will be made.
This will be the last Thanksgiving as "just a married couple."
Next year, our little girl will be trying some of these foods!!
I'm so blessed and cannot wait to experience all that comes from now til then...
via google
I have so much to be thankful for this year,
it's almost overwhelming.
I remember a year ago, as I drank wine and moped that I still wasn't pregnant...
It's easy to forget how much it hurt to see so many people around me have babies,
while I patiently/impatiently waited for it to be my turn.
As much discomfort as I am in,
I would not change any of it, so long as baby girl arrives safe and sound.
So I try to remember that no matter how rough life seems,
I have come a long long way.
Some where some place, someone else is feeling upset about something I once did.
Yes, we should be grateful every month of the year...
but I think it's safe to say, as holidays near,
our heart strings are tugged on a bit tighter.
A tear sheds a tad easier,
and it's just natural to want to be grateful for simple every day things.
google images
On a silly sports related note...
Anyone else see that game last night?!!?
I'll admit, I still don't know all the ins and outs of football.
I know a lot of the 49er players and I know the basics.
I'm now working on learning all of the different names of positions and their purposes.
I can tell you, I was a little nervous about the backup quarterbacks
and how our team would do...
facebook image
But he was phenomenal!
I never really cared for football because no one really taught me the game.
I think my husband actually enjoys teaching me about it,
so long as I don't annoy him too much during the games hehe.
There's something special about being able to enjoy a team together
and be excited about all of it...
Although it's way  more fun when we win!!
These two, the "Smith brothers" were something else last night!
It was so fun to watch.
facebook image
I also want to gloat for a minute and say that I'm about 90% DONE
with my Christmas shopping!!
google image

This is unheard of.
I can be the biggest procrastinator most of the times.
However,
since I have no control over when little miss makes her arrival,
I figured I'd rather stock up on gifts,
take my time to wrap.
I will admit that Amazon has become my best friend.
You can't beat free or minimal shipping,
and waddling is just so painful.
I'd share what I bought,
but I know many of these people read my blog!!
I did get some shopping done at stores,
but I am very appreciative of online shopping.
Can I rant a second about Black Friday?
I feel like it's being made to be such a big deal...
and overshadows Thanksgiving in a way...
I don't know.
I'm just old fashioned and sometimes
I just don't like where society is headed.
But that's another post, for another day.
I won't be standing in lines;
never have.
Never will.
Clearly it's the last place a prego should be anyway.
I don't like the craziness and madness that comes with it!
I may however peruse online "Cyber Monday"
since I have a few people left on my list.
How are you doing with your shopping?
Do you have a lot left or do you shop all year long?

We Need a Few More Sundays

Well, the weather here reflects the mood of us Niners fans...
That's about all I have to say about that.
I told hubs this morning, at least when they were awful a few years ago,
it didn't make him so upset if they lost.
He said he hid it better, and now he expects more.
#truefanforlife
Yesterday was such a perfect Fall morning!
We took a little drive, grabbed our traditional bagel breakfast sandwiches,
which we realized we hadn't enjoyed since late August???!!
I had a craving for cream top whole milk in a glass jar...
So we stopped out at Pittsford Dairy
google images
We may have picked up a blueberry pie too.
We then headed over to Buy Buy Baby to meet our friend Chris with his van,
so we could bring home our glider for baby girl's room!!
It is seriously the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in.
My dad and step-mom gave it to us early as our shower gift!!
Yes, that is the little pillow I sewed all by myself!
Next up is the window being replaced...
as classy as this trash bag is:
I think a tree branch broke it over 5 years ago,
so it was time to get it repaired.
The new one should be in tonight!
We still need to hang pictures, put together the closet organizer,
and the swing my mom bought Brooke!
We need more Sundays together, husband and I.
So many fun things going on, I love it.
**Baby girl is measuring at 30 weeks and I'm only 28 weeks pregnant.
It just hit me last night, she may very well be here before Christmas.
I don't even have a stocking yet
#whatkindofmotherami???
Holy Goodness, I'm having a baby soon!!!
It is so crazy how fast time is flying.
Ok sorry, just needed to get that out.**
As for today?
Couponing,
Target run,
Jo-Ann Fabrics
Groceries,
cleaning
& going over to my mother-in-law's to work on the bedding.
We are getting close people!!
Hope you have an awesome day.

A Cute Movie & Football Sunday Ready!!

We had a low key Friday night with early bird Fish Frys
and a cute little movie.
google images

I saw that it had a 3 out of 5 star rating, so I didn't expect much.
It was a little on the slow side, but I liked it.
Hubs laughed quite a bit at some of the silly man-humor
{that I don't really find funny, but I love to hear him laugh!}
Definitely a RomCom and nothing more than that.
No tears or true heartfelt emotions, just something to watch...
other than him play Madden '13!
I liked the main character;
she's pretty and had some adorable style throughout the movie.
I am happy we didn't go to the theater,
but I'd recommend watching it with some popcorn on the couch.
It's pouring rain here now,
as I sip my English breakfast tea and get ready for my pre-natal yoga.
I'll be making a stop at BJ's to pick up some food goodies for tomorrow.
Football is back woo hoo!
Never in a million years would I have ever thought how excited I'd be to watch football.
Last year was a true breakthrough;
I learned more about the game, players, etc.
and my husband's team 49ers did pretty damn well.
Let's do it again boys, and make it all the way this time!!
I have my garden flag & new maternity shirt all ready to rock.

google images
My sister & bros are comin over for a little gathering tomorrow.
Good times.
Happy Weekend!!

LC Inspiration on Friday's Fancies

Very true; love it!

Happy Friday my lovelies!!
Few things to share with you today.
Last night the husband and I went to his parents house.
They make THE BEST homemade pizza.
I love it.
Joe loves it.
We get to drink some vino & have fun family time.
Perfection.
I know mom reads the blog, so here's shout-out--
{Thanks so much for the pizza & brownies.
I'm enjoying the coffee right now!!
Love you and I'm so luck to be your daughter-in-law.}
I also wanted to share with you, my lovely readers, the biggest dog I have ever met:
Ralphie.
He is about 200 pounds and he is the silliest & sweetest dog.
They adopted him a few years back and you can tell he's so happy with them!
Disregard my amazing fashion. Don't be jealous. :)
Speaking of fashion,
today I'm also linking up with AV {long distance loving}
Today's task was to be inspired.
I love Lauren Conrad's style.
My outfit:
I love the playful pop of a green clutch with the subtle black/cream combo.
The nail color was a fantastic touch,
as was the material of the pants.
I also adored the gold accents
I just love everything about this!
My inspiration came from this photo on Pinterest

We have an awesome weekend coming up!!
We are not staying in and doing nothing, woo hoo!
I can't wait to share our fun times with you soon.
Have a wonderful weekend.
GO 49ers!!
