Bibdanas: Baby Boy Fashion

I know most people disagree and think little girls have the best fashion, but holy smokes, little boy clothing and accessories make my heart skip!! I think partly it's because I had sisters growing up and never really had itty bitty baby boys in my life, but either way, I am all about the cuteness that is for little baby boys!!

I also live for bibs with my little man because he is constantly spitting up and/or drooling. I have been on the hunt for some of the super cute Bibdanas I have seen many babies sporting, I just didn't know where to purchase.  I hopped on Etsy and found this wonderful shop, Finding My Sunshine.  Christina was so great to work with and is a work at home mama, which I just love supporting.  I wasn't really picky about the fabrics, I just told her to pick some cute boy colors to use!

I love them!!  She includes care instructions and a sweet note.

Mr B loves them too.  He's about 18 pounds and in 6-9 month clothing and these fit just fine.  I love that they are reversible and I can put them either way, pending on his outfit.

This is my favorite picture of him, just look how stinking adorable he is!!

I think these Bibdanas are the perfect way to add a little something extra to a boy outfit, but also save me from changing his outfit if he does drool or spit up. I can just change out the bib.  Win win!  She has tons of fabrics to choose from for burp cloths, dresses, and teething rings too. Be sure to check out her shop--it'd make a super cute gift for any mama to be!

Little of This and That

I miss blogging!! More than anything, I know I will miss what was going on when I go to look back!! Isn't that one of the best reasons to blog? I just love reading through old "entries" and seeing what I was up to a year or two, three…ago.

Brooke has been boycotting her eggs in the morning. I think she would like them with lots of cheese, but I'm "that mom" and I try to limit stuff like cheese.  And she loves her cheese stick snacks! So, I saw these in our organic section---I'll be honest, I tried one and it tastes kinda blah, but I pour in a little bit of vanilla almond milk (organic) and she LOVES it.  She's pretty messy eating it, but yay for finding another breakfast food!

I think she eats more than I eat right now.  It's crazy!

Seriously, this one just cracks me up so much! I can't even capture all of the funny moments, like yesterday as she looked up at me while I was cutting a pineapple, she was sticking penne pasta up her nose.  It took all of me not to laugh and to just tell her how inappropriate it was!  Last night before bed, she started to lick my face---no clue where she learned that from either. She is such a ham.  I was trying to do my hair Saturday and this is the sulk I got because I couldn't read her the book right then and there.

She is starting to dress herself…#frozeneverything

I tried on one of his new hats while I was folding the laundry; it looks like it is fitting perfectly at the moment--I am not sure for how long though!? 6-9 months size.

We are LOVING the warmer temps! It's in the 60s, so we keep blankets on him, but he is rocking a six month short/polo combo.

Tuesday we went to the mall and Brookie got some new summer clothes!! She is already into 5T or XS girls.  I still cannot believe how big she is!  I also wanted to get her some new shades and sun hat to protect her fair skin.  She has skin like mine, so we burn very easily.  Childrens Place had some wonderful clothes and I think it's safe to say she's set (until I see something else she just needs to have ha!) Shopping for the kids is so much fun.

However, I will say that Old Navy had some girls' cut off shorts that I just don't think are appropriate. I am that mom, already, I told you.  Oy.  We are gonna have a long road ahead with fashion and technology, etc I am sure, but I am ready!  One day at a time though.  For now,  I'm just trying to get her to use the potty and pick up toys. haha!

So that's the latest scoop!  Totally started this post on Thursday, but now it's Friday…I ended up making dinner for hubby and all the people he works with, since so many of them are out sick, some  (like my man) got stuck working over time.  They really enjoyed my Man pleasing Chicken, Jasmine Rice  (throw it into a rice cooker, boo ya!) , tomato salad and Apple Spice Cake.  Much better than any fast food joint!  And, I just love taking care of other people.  Probably one of the main reason my husband and I get along so well.  However, everyone needs to recharge, and I must say that my 20 minute hot shower just hit the spot!! Mom life is no joke and I may have texted my hubby a picture of my favorite wine, that is calling my name…so maybe he'll stop by and grab me a bottle.  :D  Although, a shower wine would have been nice, but let's be real.  It's only 1:30 in the afternoon.

TGIF my loves!

Easter {First Holiday as a Family of 4!}

We dyed eggs last year, but little Brooke wasn't really into it…[last Easter here]  Two things--1.  I was in SUPER good shape. and 2. I was prego and didn't know it haha!

This year we even had Daddy join in on the fun! I need to get clear cups for next year.

Mr Bubs woke up and wanted to see what was going on

Brookie was fascinated with the colored eggs.

Hey! I wanna color eggs too!

I think Joe may have had the most fun… he then had colored fingers because he used food coloring too.

I still can't believe we have both a little girl and a little boy.  I cannot tell you how much fun it is! I've always been used to little girls, being the oldest of 3, I know girls.  Boys?  This is a whole new area to me!

We didn't put a ton of stuff in their baskets, but we did buy a few smaller toys we put in the eggs and she LOVED them!  Joe made a trail of the eggs to her basket.  Next year we will actually hide it.

My handsome little man all dressed up!  Here is the bow tie that led to the entire Easter outfit coordination.

I mean, really.  How stinkin cute?  Again, maybe it's because I grew up with all girls, but I just think little boys are SO freakin adorable.

Brooke refuses to smile for selfies lately.  We need to work on that!

Sisterly {gangsta} love #ricophotobomb

Father Daughter Love.

My contributions?  Mimosas -- Champs & Pineapple Mango are my fave!  And Bacon with Caramel & Ganache.  I did them the way the recipe said to, and I did half on the stove top in a pan.  I prefer bacon to not be too crispy, so I liked it in the pan.  I also didn't use heavy cream, I warmed chocolate almond milk & mixed semi-sweet chocolate chips, as that is what I had on hand.

We then re-created our first Easter photo like we had with Brooke.  {here}

My dad kept making Brooke laugh hysterically; it was so cute.

Me and the hubs.  We clean up nice ha!

After my parents, we headed over to my in-laws for a little tea and dessert.  Totally did not snap ONE photo.  #fail   The Easter bunny spoiled the kids there too, lucky ducks!  It was a beautiful day and filled with much love.  Holidays are so sweet with little ones.

Hope your Easter was EGG-stra special. Bahaha. #sorrynotsorry

Easter Ready

I am super excited for Spring to get here!!  Even though I am staring at a rather large snow mountain in my backyard, I am confident that by Easter, warm weather and green grass will magically appear!  Now that things are running much smoother in our house, I have had time to do some fun stuff like find coordinating Easter outfits for our babes!  I am still in awe that we have a little boy and a little girl.  This is just too much fun!!

I decided upon these two cuties from Carters

And of course, little mister needs his first bow tie for the event!! {thanks to Jane and their daily e-mails!}

Since Valentine's Day we just hung around the house, I didn't really dress the kids up, so Easter marks our first "major" holiday as a family of four!  We have been reading Easter books, playing with plastic eggs and doing some small Easter crafts to get Brooke familiar with it.  This worked so well with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I think she's starting to really catch onto everything.

How cute [and easy] do these pancakes look??  I cannot wait to dye eggs with Brookie this year because she will just LOVE it.  Her favorite book is Where are Baby's Easter Eggs--she is obsessed with the flap books.  And, how do we not have any jelly beans up in here?! Oy. I need to get on that stat.

easter

I am hoping that my husband and I can go shopping, just the two of us, and pick up their Easter basket goodies.   I'm thinking some new Spring goodies, like bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and maybe gardening tools for Brooke.  For baby boy, I would like to get him some shoes, either mocs or Robeez, since he likes to kick his socks off.  Maybe a teething toy (not that he'll need it soon, but a few more months!) and a bib or two.   Joe will pick out candy, I am sure, but either way, it will be fun to play Easter Bunny and hide her basket this year!  Two is such a fun age.

Most importantly, we will spend the day with family!! My stepbrother is coming home and we will get to see him and his girlfriend and he will get to meet Bradley finally!  My family hasn't all gotten together like this since Christmas, so we are super excited.  I am hoping we can stop by my in-laws for a coffee before hand too, but we haven't made plans yet ;)

What are your Easter plans?  I cannot believe it is only 3 weeks away!

Saturday Randoms

Hey hey, it's Saturday!! I am excited to have Joe home an extra day this weekend.  Of course he's working today, but we had a nice day yesterday.   We were able to pick out paint for baby boy's room, started narrowing down new carpet ideas, and are ready to tackle his room hopefully tomorrow!

This week was nice--warm, but breezy and I tried to get outside with Brooke as much as we could.

She loves trying on our "shoe-shoes"

Tuesday we went shopping with my friend and her kids. I rocked the bump.

I had to buy baby boy a few things…it was Gap card Tuesday (extra 10% off!) and 20-30% on top of that.  I also grabbed some socks (so cute right?!) and hats (they say "new arrival" at H & M.  I am doing the same thing I did for Brooke and buying bigger. I had one newborn onesie and she wore it twice and was out of it. 0-3 and 3-6 months will be fine.

Now that I've had a winter baby, I know exactly what I liked/what worked best.  Obviously cute dresses aren't even an option, but I didn't put Brooke in them much when she was little anyway.  I like soft materials that are cozy and warm!

So this Target purchase may have happened. #handsomelikedaddy

I bought this is 6 month size, but that is like 12.5 lb and I am pretty sure Brooke was that at one month. We have big babes!

Fall is rearing its head, and I spotted one little mum poking through!

Brooke needed some cooler weather sleepers and these 3T (Carters) from Target fit!

Brooke's doing really well--I was brushing her teeth last night and did notice her back molars are coming through--she has not been eating as much and has been pulling on her ears.  I also think she's a bit more clingy and that explains it.  Poor girl!

She got a "bloon" from visiting Daddy at work, while I ran Sadie to the vet next door. [sidenote: don't give your dog Nylabones, as they can BREAK THEIR TEETH. What??  Oy, so now we need to get a tooth extracted and all that jazz. I swear I've never had such high maintenance dogs!]

How are baby and I doing?  Quite well!  I definitely do a lot during the early part of the day and then by the end of the day, 7/8 I am DONE. I just want to put my feet up and relax.

Still having prego brain-- I totally shaved my legs and my left armpit, but completely forgot the right one.  Noticed that last night after running around in a tank top all day. #awesome

Used up all but one egg yesterday and was going to make sure I get to the grocery store…but forgot. This morning Joe got one egg and we ate some organic frozen waffles.  Thank goodness I had something on hand! I made him a pb&j for a snack too because I felt bad. Oops!

Wish list:

While I am trying to be super practical with baby #2, there are a few things I am looking into that I did not have for Brooke.  I used a K'tan for her when she seemed a little fussy or I wanted to wear her and I loved it.  I just know that to make my life easier, I will be wearing little boy a lot more-- so I am looking into ring slings.  I hear that Sakura Bloom are really wonderful linen sling that hold up well and are somewhat stylish haha.

I'm loving this color.

I have a bouncy seat I used for Brooke but it is really near the floor and doesn't rock. We barely used it; I would put Brooke in it while I showered/did my hair.  I LOVE our swing, but that thing is pretty big and bulky so it stays on our first floor. I am thinking this may be helpful for when we are upstairs and I don't want Brooke sitting on him or something.  It seems easy to travel with too, so if we go some place we don't have to carry the huge pack and play everywhere. I won't use it for sleeping the night, only because we are very big on putting baby in crib as soon as we can…it worked really well for Brooke, so I'm hoping he does as well as she did.

Thoughts?

I still need silly things like boy bibs, more sleepers, etc. But I will pace myself and I have a feeling even though I won't have a baby shower/sprinkle, Christmas is right before we are due, so we may get a few things there too.  Goodness knows I won't want much under that tree for me! It's all about the kiddos this year!

OK I need to get my booty to the grocery store for some eggs..which I really try not to do on a Saturday. Ca-razy!  Happy Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the last weekend of Summer!
