Out of the Box Date Night Ideas

Hello Monday & lovely ladies!!
I am ready to kick this week's bootay.
Bring it Jillian Michaels!!
Today's topic?
We spend the majority of our time at home.
We stay in and pretty much cook dinner every night,
and sometimes get into that "at home" rut.
It's so easy to stay on the couch in comfy
pjs and sit back and zone out in front of the TV...
but I want to make sure we get out and about more,
especially since the weather is turning nicer!
I see so many successful marriages out there
because they take time for themselves as
a couple!
No distractions!!
Dinner date nights used to happen a few nights a week.
When I was working full time, we
probably ate out 3 times or more.
Obviously, that wasn't great for our health
or our bank account.
It's hard because we love to go out to eat,
but sometimes the food bothers his belly.
We really never know where it all comes from,
or how it's prepared, and his Crohn's makes it tricky.
Drinking also brings out the worst in it,
so going out to bars all the time isn't really all that fun
for him either.
I need to think outside of the box!
I love getting all dolled up, but the most important
part about a date, is bonding, spending that quality time
sans phones, Ipads, laptops, playstations...

What are ways you keep your relationship strong?
Again, there is nothing wrong with a night in, reading, blogging, playing COD...
but it is important to spend good, quality time where the two of you
have to make a connection.
As great as the internet is,
there is a time and place to simply unplug.
Live in the moment.
Have a great day!

  1. These are all great ideas! We're stuck in a routine right now but we need to mix it up.

  2. All of these are great ideas girl! Hubby and I were in a serious date night rut, we'd go out but always do the same thing or eat at the same restaurant. I needed to change things up so that's when I started our monthly date nights. Mostly I included things we've never done and pre-planned the dates so there was no backing out for either of us. SO far it's been really successful and I'm really looking forward to our April date night. Last month we did the comedy club date and had a BLAST! Thanks for the post. I'm always looking for new date night ideas and have already started a basket for next year!

  3. I love paintball and picnics! All of these ideas are wonderful! Thank you for sharing all of them! I will definitely be using this as a reference!

  8. dates are so important obviously in a dating relationship and then even more so in marriage, just have to carve out that time for each other and make spending time with each other a priority. i love these ideas you posted!! always looking for different date ideas. on friday i texted my husband an address, told him not to look it up beforehand but when he got int he car to plug the address into the GPS and meet me there, it was a lot of fun

  9. These are fantastic ideas! I like coffee house/dessert dates because they're low key, easy, and cozy. I think I'll have to try that stay-home ice cream sundae date night idea.

  10. I love the idea of getting all dolled up as if you were going out but you stay home instead!
